Singapore's Built Environment sector is at an exciting phase in its transformation journey. We have seen innovations and technology bring about a more productive, sustainable, and resilient Built Environment sector.
Riding on this wave, Building and Construction Authority partnered with Takenaka Japan, Aktio Corporation, and the RX Consortium on 23 January 2026 to host the Construction Innovation Forum 2026 at BCA Built Environment Innovation Hub (BEIH) @ BCA Braddell Campus for over 160 industry participants.
Speakers from Takenaka Japan, Aktio Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, Panasonic, Hitachi Asia, and JTC shared interesting insights on the latest use cases for Robotics & Automation, 3D printing, sustainability (including life-cycle assessment tools), and smart building innovations.
The forum also featured 23 cutting edge technologies on-site which gave attendees an opportunity to interact with and evaluate the potential deployment of these solutions in their own projects.
RX Consortium Japan Chairman and Senior Executive Managing Officer of Takenaka Corporation, Mr Rikuta Murakami shared that "Improving productivity and appeal in the construction industry is a prevalent issue. The industry is seen as the 'Three D's' - Demanding, Dirty, and Dangerous" - which makes it challenging to attract younger talent. There is a need to transform construction into a 'Three S' industry instead - Sparkling, Smart, and Safe. To this end, DX (Digital Transformation) and RX (Robotics Transformation) are critical considerations.โ
