January 17th, 2022 – Responding to the calls to take on the challenge of winning Arizona’s 6th Congressional District and moving Nancy Pelosi one step closer to retirement, State Senator Kelly Townsend has filed paperwork to run for Congress.
The conservative State Senator is unique among the Republican field as she is the only candidate with a voting record that demonstrates the ideology and backbone needed to stand up to the establishment in Washington D.C. and put the people of Arizona first.
Townsend has a 100% pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, and pro-taxpayer record, and she has a long record of fighting for secure borders, an end to illegal immigration, expansion of school choice, and of course her well-publicized efforts to secure Arizona’s elections so that every legal vote is counted swiftly and accurately.
“I am joining a field of good people in response to the hundreds of people who have reached out to be before and since the new maps were approved. While they had various issues that were important to them, what they all had in common was a desire for a proven fighter who had a record of winning.” said Townsend. “I look forward to earning the votes of the citizens of the 6th district over the months ahead.”
Because Townsend is one of the state’s leaders in the fight for election integrity, reining in Executive power, and protecting Arizonans’ medical freedoms, she plans on keeping her State Senate seat while she campaigns. “I was recently asked to serve as Chairman of the Senate Government Committee where we will be moving critical legislation, and I owe it to the people I serve to fulfill my commitments to them.”

Rep. Kelly Townsend has proudly served in Arizona’s Legislature since 2013. A mother, veteran, small business owner, and certified Doula and Doula Trainer, Kelly's roots in Arizona run deep, going all the way back to the heyday of Tombstone, where her Great Great Grandfather George Buford was a successful silver miner.
Kelly grew up in Oregon and then volunteered for the U.S. Navy, where she served as an Aviation Structural Mechanic on F-14s and F/A-18 aircraft. After her Navy service, Kelly launched a career in Corporate Management, then shifted to health care as a Birth Doula, guiding expectant mothers through the adventure of birth and post-partum adjustment, while establishing her own small business.

Dems Sink to New Low to Subvert Elections, Sneak Election Fraud Enshrinement Legislation Into NASA Bill to Bypass Filibuster
In a tweet last Thursday, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) warned that Dems have inserted their election federalization legislation into a gutted NASA bill as a way to get around the 60-vote Senate filibuster. She writes:
“Democrats know they can't pass their radical voting rights bills on their own merit, so now they're disguising them as a NASA-related bill. This is just their latest scheme to pass universal mail-in ballots, same-day registration & use $1.2 billion to fund their campaigns.”
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) sounded the alarm in a separate video, the Dems “took 2 dangerous bills, HR1 and HR4 and created a love child… and tucked all of this egregious language into the NASA bill.”
What’s in the bill? Everything the Dems need to stay in power forever. The legislation:
• Eliminates voter ID (to vote and to register to vote)
• Creates a 3 week Election “Day” - 2 weeks to vote and 1 week to count
• Mandates universal mail-in ballots
• Eliminates signature verification on absentee ballots
• Makes it difficult to clean up voter rolls
• Allows non-citizens to vote
• Uses tax payer funds to finance political campaigns
The Senate vote may occur today. We need every Republican senator and at least 1 Dem senator to to vote No.
‼️What can you do? Call your 2 state senators and tell them to vote No on the NASA ‘voting rights’ bill and to uphold the filibuster. Let them know that you’d like a response. In addition, petition these 4 Dems who are undecided about election federalization:

The government is saying that if the schools do not follow CDC Guidelines, they will not get the ESSRIII money. I have attached the letter. This is NOT about protecting your children, this is about money. The school district does NOT care what is best for your children or if they are stomping on Parental rights. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Taxpayers' dollars should not be used against parents
Senator Kelly Townsend (R-16) introduced SB1011 (school board associations; membership; payment) today and it passed through the Senate Education Committee (5-3).
SB 1011 prohibits a school district from using taxpayer dollars to pay for membership in a state or national school board association. Statute allows a school district governing board to annually budget and spend monies for membership in an association of school districts within Arizona. However, a school district board may not spend taxpayers' dollars for membership in an association that attempts to influence the outcome of an election or legislative policies.
Senator Townsend states "the Arizona School Boards Association (ASBA) has a consistent pattern of lobbying with a clear bias. This constitutes political activity and is often against the very taxpayers that funded them. I encourage ASBA to pursue a 501(c)(4) tax exempt status and fundraise the monies they need to operate their organization without relying on the taxpayer."
Until recently, the National School Boards Association was a nonpartisan lobbying organization. The group's leaders then wrote a letter to President Biden and claimed threatening and aggressive behavior from parents directed at school board members across the country amounted to "domestic terrorism," and requested federal law enforcement intervention.
"I requested records from ASBA regarding taxpayer monies used to pay legal fees for any litigation with the state and whether these funds came from dues received from any school board of any district in Arizona. They did not comply with the request which is why I am running this bill. This organization should be serving the parents, and not working hard against them," said Senator Townsend. “Our state lawmakers are listening to the concerns of the parents that live within our communities and are working on policy to address issues like Critical Race Theory training and vaccine mandates within our schools. I would hate to know the dues this organization receives from school boards are being used to pay attorneys to sue our state and overturn legislation we’re crafting on behalf of these constituents. This is completely inappropriate, and I will be looking into whether or not taxpayer money has been used in this fashion to undo our laws."
This bill, if signed into law, would be implemented on the general effective date.
