Tales from the paper mill: This happened to me personally. I got in a freight elevator to take a cart to the basement. The big elevators you can drive a forklift into. I pulled the doors shut and pressed a button and started the slow descent to the basement. about 3ft from the bottom the elevator suddenly stopped going down but the hoist motor was still running. I'm standing there wondering what the hell is going on and see white paper stock water running in the cracks around the door. They had flooded the entire basement with stock about 2ft deep. The elevator pit was brimming full. So there was absolutely nothing to do but stand there until the elvator car floated down and I was wet above my knees.... then the door opened.
