Observably, political communism was nothing new to humanity. Emancipating the sexes, eliminating the family, and abolishing property rights had been preached right in scripture for millennia. Achieving those goals, however, required crafty rebranding and reverse psychology to finally transform reactionary Christianity into revolutionary Christianity, under a new name: Bolshevism.

In the Soviet Union, if the police had sent you to the gulag that was your fate. There was no challenging that or raising objections, it was set in stone. In the bible, this revocation of free will certainly wasn't seen as sinister at all, rather it was presented as a test of faith and loyalty to Christ.

You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. (Hebrews 10:34)

Joyfully accept your fate when the state freezes your bank account, seizes your family estate, and throws you in prison. Joyfully turn the other cheek and bless those who persecute you. It goes without saying that Christian theology was the hidden bedrock of communist power.

Matthew 7:21-23

Read that very carefully. Those who profess Jesus Christ by name only are viewed as nothing in contrast to the ones who did the will of God without proclaiming his name. Could it be that Lenin and Stalin were closer to Christ's Word than most of today's so-called Christians are? There is a very good possibility of that being the case.

Not in the modern sense, but in the largely metaphysical sense. All physical pagan gods and their representative iconography was branded as “rank superstition” by the church, thus destroyed, alongside the temples of their innocent believers. Anyone who worshipped their own gods were punished by death. Anyone who refused to worship the invisible one was slaughtered, beheaded, and put to shame. We can very much see how this is simply two-thirds of the present atheist agenda in its pursuit of total war against all idolatry and superstition. They were the original league of militant atheists. In swaying the planet to kneel before nothingness, Catholics and Protestants did more harm to classical theism than today's atheist roleplayers could ever ask for.

In one point early Christian, medieval, and modern communism are in accord, i.e., in their internationalism, in which they are quite distinct from Platonism, the latter being merely local.
