Couple weeks ago I predicted that our growing data center capacity… is a potential pool of compute resources to be leveraged in a cyber emergency. Now an order is put out authorizing exactly that.

Did people think China wouldn’t have a plan to weaponize all of their data centers in a WWIII cyber attack scenario?

If we let them build up, while we don’t… there comes a tipping point where our government systems can’t compete against their resources in a total war scenario.

(Think of a civilian data center as a pawn that can suddenly become a queen in a cyber attack. Classified details about exactly how they can be leveraged… and now no traditional attack can take them offline.)
