There is no reason that the existence of such obscure folk song recordings would be unique to my county.

I guarantee there are artists throughout England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales who are just waiting to be rediscovered, to have their stories told and their music digitised.

The artists and their families don't do it themselves because they think no one cares.

Wherever you are from, you could be the one to prove them wrong! It would cost you little to nothing apart from your time and effort.

Saving the obscure material of the English Folk Revival could be a great cultural project of our generation, and it should be.

Okay, apparently the EFDSS have lost their recordings, or at least misplaced/ failed to correctly catalogue them; which should shock me but seems to be a theme when I go looking for these things. They're going to keep looking but for now that's a frustrating dead end.

However, the good news is I have found other sources of recordings made on several occasions and totalling almost 150 songs, with some exposition and introduction by Albert Shaw himself. I've been given permission to release these already so I'm excited to share them with you, these recordings have never been made public before and represent a significant collection of Black Country Folk Music from an until now lesser known Traditional Black Country Folk Singer.
