Galdr - Icelandic Rune Magic

The two manuscripts printed here were transcribed from earlier sources at the beginning of the 19th century, only 100 years after prosecutions for witchcraft had ceased in Iceland. Written around 1800, the first manuscript in this book represents the largest collection of Icelandic magical staves in a single text, while the second manuscript is dated ca. 1820 and shows the influence of contemporary European occultism. Included in the appendix is a large selection of magical runes and spells from various other Icelandic manuscripts, with explanatory notes on their origins, development, and meaning.

The Ur Group
Giuliano Kremmerz

Giuliano Kremmerz began at a very young age to study and practice the ancient hermetic wisdom of Izar (Pasquale de Servis), under whose guidance he soon became one of the leading figures in the occult sciences. After a mysterious period of more than five years in an unknown location, he returned to Italy with the intention to spread the doctrine of Hermeticism, publishing the magazine “The Secret World” in 1897. Kremmerz subsequently founded the “Therapeutic Brotherhood of Miriam," and became involved with the UR Group during his later years. He eventually came into conflict with other Hermeticists who misinterpreted his work as promoting occultism, and was forced to leave Italy to settle in France, where he would end his days.

Hieroglyphica

Written reputedly by an Egyptian magus in the fourth century A.D., the Hieroglyphica is an anthology of nearly two hundred “hieroglyphs,” or allegorical emblems, said to have been used by the Pharaonic scribes in representing natural and moral aspects of the world. The work describes how various kinds of natural phenomena, emotions, virtues, philosophical concepts, and human character types were symbolized by the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, providing detailed explanations for each individual emblem. Translated into Greek in 1505, it informed much of Western esoteric iconography from the sixteenth through the nineteenth centuries.

Charles Godfrey Leland was an American folklorist whose research into the esoteric traditions of Europe and America contributed greatly to the resurgence of interest in paganism and magic during the 20th century. Rudolf Jung

Rudolf Jung (1882 - 1945) was a Sudeten-German railway engineer, trade-unionist, parliamentarian, and political activist. He was one of the early pioneers of National Socialism, and the National Socialist movement's first major theoretician. Jung's book Der Nationale Sozialismus was the first major attempt to outline and explain völkisch National Socialism as an ideology and a body of theory constituting a general, all-encompassing worldview. It thus not only represents one of the most detailed and thorough explorations of National Socialism as an ideological worldview, but also provides considerable insight into the nature of pre-Hitlerian National Socialism.
