This was very clearly demonstrated with the last federal election where the admittedly milquetoast but still better policy wise Conservatives saw a lot more of the younger adults voting for them (more so men, as there is also the gender issue; as usual). Meanwhile, the ruling Liberals were much more heavily supported by Boomers (granted, plenty of right leaning Boomers voted for the Conservatives as well). It really did come down to the generational split of liberal Boomers coupled with liberal women keeping the "Natural governing party" (as the Liberals arrogantly like to style themselves as) versus more right leaning young men (and, yes, mixed with the usually more conservative married women along with conservative Boomers).

If you've followed me for some time, you will be are of the numerous times I have recounted examples of these liberal Boomers often saying the most oblivious things imaginable, which reminds you why so many young people express their disdain for Boomers and look forward to their passing.
