This video makes me so sad and nostalgic🥺Song so perfectly fits them and the original plan to get them back together in the end. Stelena feels 💔

I realise the show was terribly written after rewatch
When I was watching TVD n TOs a year ago for the first time I was like holy fck this is fire.
But this year, when I started my rewatch, I realise there are so many plot holes and nonsense plot lines. TVD after season 6 is like a hot circle of garbage, same for the originals after season 3. Like, there are so many episodes that literally deserve 3.5/10 ratings, especially in the later seasons. Not to mention Legacies, which the entire show deserves a 1/10. Right now, I can’t even remember why I was so addicted to the show when I was watching it the first time bc rn I have zero desire to click it or even join this sub.

Alaric don't deserve hate
I've noticed that a lot of people here don't like Alaric and I think that's unfair. To put it bluntly, I don't have a good opinion of Matt Davis. He's a jerk, probably a sexual predator and shouldn't be getting any more acting jobs. But I'm against hating a character just because the actor is a jerk. I have always been in favor of the artist separating himself from his work.
Alaric is one of my favorite characters and certainly my favorite non-magical character (if you exclude the end of the third and the beginning of the sixth season) I loved his relationships with all the characters, especially with Damon whose friendship is my favorite in this show (Alamon > Bamon for me anyway), I especially loved the father figure he represented for Elena and Jeremy, but also for other characters and I loved his sacrifice, his desire to always help and protect the people he loves. And yes, whenever they repeat here that Bonnie is the most tragic, maybe we should be reminded who Alaric lost everything to. I'm not downplaying Bonnie's sacrifices and suffering, but if they were doing a competition for the most tragic personality, I think Alaric would easily win the gold.
The most controversial aspect of his character is probably season six and his relationship with Caroline. It didn't bother me. It's true that I'm not a fan of the whole magical pregnancy story, but I think the whole thing about these two is being exaggerated. Alaric did fall in love with her over the years which may not have been ok, but the irony is that out of all the men in her life he valued and respected her the most, he never crossed the line and in the end he was the one who selflessly gave himself up so she could be happy with Stefan. I mean, we've had open sex between professors and students on shows like Dawson's Creek and Skins and no one made a fuss about it, but Alaric and Caroline's completely innocent relationship is problematic?

What’s a take you have about TVD that most people would disagree with?
•the writing was horrible starting from seasons 4 and onwards
•The show relied too much on shock value or drama instead of good storytelling.
•Stelena had a healthier foundation even if it wasn’t endgame.
• Most relationships in the show were driven by plot, not character.
•Damon’s redemption is overrated and nonexistent
• klaus was only ever scary or intimidating when he was in Alarics body.
• defan was not the true love story of the show.
•Bonnie , Elena and Caroline friendships shouldn’t have made it past season 1 lol.
• Bonnie had all the traits the show claimed Elena had and showed all of them through action and words.

No plot spoilers please but I'm in the middle of season 2 and the vamps drinking blood bags like juice boxes is hilarious.
This is so different than true blood or twilight or any other vampire IP I've consumed over the years.

Considering how much hate elena gets from the fandom (i personally enjoy her character though), I wonder if elena went to high school in the modern day would she be bullied or is this purely a fandom hate train thing?
