Well, it doesn't run. I mean, it's not that I could figure out.

Stefan giving Dorian the files is one of the most honest things the show ever did.
If I’m remembering correctly lol. But One thing I don’t see talked about enough is when Stefan gives Dorian all the files on his victims and basically says do whatever you want with this. That moment says a lot about Stefan’s character.
He’s not begging for forgiveness. He’s not trying to justify anything. He’s not asking Dorian to understand him. He literally hands over the truth and accepts whatever comes with it even if that means Dorian hates him or wants revenge.
That’s what accountability actually looks like.
Stefan doesn’t get to decide how Dorian feels. He doesn’t get to rewrite what he did. He just puts the power in Dorian’s hands and accepts the consequences. It’s uncomfortable but it’s real.
And I think that’s what separates him from a lot of other characters. His guilt isn’t performative it actually drives his actions. He’s willing to face the damage he caused without expecting closure or redemption from the person he hurt.
That whole scene where Dorian was trying to kill him was a good scene imo , it was a little sad but a compelling scene. It showed that the past always comes back someway and somehow. But I was upset cause Stefan was the only one to go through that when he turned human. it seems Stefan was the only one who ever had to face real consequences and suffer for his past. After season 2, it feels like he never got a moment of peace because of everything he did even after going human. He’s constantly paying for his past or other things while other characters, like Damon rarely face that kind of reckoning. That’s part of why the Dorian scene hits so hard it’s Stefan carrying the weight of his actions in a way no one else really does. But I still liked it cause idk it was just good.
I’m talking about season 8 btw.

I realise the show was terribly written after rewatch
When I was watching TVD n TOs a year ago for the first time I was like holy fck this is fire.
But this year, when I started my rewatch, I realise there are so many plot holes and nonsense plot lines. TVD after season 6 is like a hot circle of garbage, same for the originals after season 3. Like, there are so many episodes that literally deserve 3.5/10 ratings, especially in the later seasons. Not to mention Legacies, which the entire show deserves a 1/10. Right now, I can’t even remember why I was so addicted to the show when I was watching it the first time bc rn I have zero desire to click it or even join this sub.
