U.S. President Donald Trump remarked that the long-standing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan appears to be approaching a “successful conclusion,” attributing the progress to American diplomatic efforts.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, July 14, after meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House, Trump stated:
“And we’ve solved another one. One that we just seem to have—Armenia and Azerbaijan. It looks like that’s going to come to a conclusion, a successful conclusion.”

Armenian champions FC Noah have taken a historic step by advancing to the second qualifying round of the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League, a milestone for a club founded just seven years ago.
Their breakthrough follows a dominant 2023–24 domestic season, where Noah captured their first-ever Armenian Premier League title, signaling their rise as a new powerhouse in Armenian football.
In the first qualifying round, Noah overcame Montenegro’s Budućnost Podgorica, winning 3-2 on aggregate.
Their reward is a formidable tie against Hungarian champions Ferencváros.
The two-legged clash is scheduled as follows:
•First Leg: July 22, 2025 – in Yerevan, Armenia
•Second Leg: July 29, 2025 – in Budapest, Hungary

On July 15, 2025, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court, seeking to invalidate the state registration of ownership granted in 2017 by the Cadastre Committee to the Government of the Republic of Artsakh for the property located at 17A N. Zaryan Street, Yerevan.
This building had for decades served as the permanent representation office of Artsakh in Armenia. After the 44-day war initiated by Azerbaijan, it remained the only functional space for Artsakh officials and a key contact point for forcibly displaced citizens from Artsakh.
The structure is a two-story administrative building, built in 1969, and includes land, an electrical substation, basement areas, and a garage.
Back in September 2024, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan stated that the newly arrived Artsakh authorities—who had fled to Armenia—were “trying to wash away their guilt” by organizing gatherings in that building. He proposed reconsidering the building’s purpose.

Artsakh and Syunik are more than just regions. They are the strategic and spiritual backbone of the Armenian homeland. Without them, there can be no secure, united, or sovereign Armenia. Their loss would mean the collapse of our geographic and national continuity.
Garegin Nzhdeh recognized this reality early on. For him, Syunik and Artsakh were inseparable from the Armenian nation’s survival. He believed that surrendering these lands would lead to the eventual disintegration of Armenia itself. Nzhdeh led a determined resistance in Syunik, declaring that “There is no Armenia without Syunik,” and warned that the loss of these territories would break the spine of the nation. His unwavering stance reminds us that defending these regions is not just about borders—it’s about preserving our identity, sovereignty, and future.

Today marks nine years since the terrorist attack carried out by the armed group “Sasna Tsrer” in July 2016. On July 17, the group violently seized the Police Patrol-Guard Service regiment headquarters in Yerevan, demanding the resignation of then-President Serzh Sargsyan and the release of so-called “political prisoners.”
This armed assault resulted in the deaths of three police officers:
Colonel Artur Vanoyan, shot and killed on the first day of the siege, July 17
Lieutenant Yuri Tepanosyan, killed by sniper fire on July 30
Police Officer Gagik Mkrtchyan, who succumbed to his injuries on August 13
Several others were wounded during the standoff.
Despite the government’s repeated efforts to negotiate a peaceful resolution, tensions escalated. Some hostages were released gradually, but the situation remained volatile until July 31, when the terrorists finally surrendered. All members of the group were arrested and later convicted for their actions.

A cross-party resolution calling for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide has been introduced in the Dáil Éireann, the lower house of Ireland’s bicameral Parliament, according to the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD).
The resolution is backed by members of several political parties, including People Before Profit, Solidarity, Sinn Féin, the Social Democrats, and the Labour Party.
The text of the resolution emphasizes that the Turkish government’s continued denial of the 1915 Armenian Genocide not only hinders national reconciliation but also stands as a barrier to genuine democratic progress in Turkey.
The resolution calls on the Government of Ireland to take part in commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and to honor the memory of the 1.5 million victims. It also urges other governments around the world to formally recognize the Genocide.
In addition, the resolution proposes incorporating the history of the Armenian Genocide into school curricula

On July 17, Belgium’s Chamber of Representatives unanimously adopted a resolution during a plenary session condemning Azerbaijan’s military attacks on the Armenian population of Artsakh and its violations of international law.
The resolution states that Azerbaijan’s actions against Artsakh and its Armenian inhabitants breach fundamental norms of international law. The Belgian legislative body emphasized that a stable and lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through mutual respect for the territorial integrity of both Armenia and Azerbaijan. It also explicitly condemns the threats and rhetoric from Azerbaijani authorities concerning the so-called “Western Azerbaijan.”
The resolution highlights Azerbaijan’s illegal detention of former Artsakh leaders and the opaque nature of the judicial proceedings against them. It strongly denounces these policies and calls on Azerbaijan to release all Armenian detainees and guarantee fair trials.
