Biodiversity crush of the day: the sunbittern!

This magnificent bird lives in the tropical areas of South America. It evolved to mimic two large eyes through its feather pattern — just as some moths and butterflies did: this phenomenon is called convergent evolution. Another example is the resemblance between the wings of bats and birds, that evolved separately but achieved the same overall shape in the end.
