The beautiful memorial retrospective honoring the late legendary actor Ahn Sung-ki sunbae-nim is running right now at CGV Apgujeong’s Hall, from March 25 to April 14, 2026. They’re screening eight of his most representative films on the big screen, the very ones that defined his extraordinary 69-year journey and made him Korea’s eternal ‘National Actor.’

Cassiopeia (2022) is one of the movies screening again, and it holds such a special place in my heart because I had the profound honor of sharing the screen with him. In this story, I played Su-jin, a successful lawyer and single mother who, after a car accident, is suddenly diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. As my memories start to fade and I slowly begin to regress, sunbae-nim’s character as my father, In-woo—steps in with such caring for me like his little girl again and teaching us all that it’s okay to forget, because he’ll tell the story all over again tomorrow. The film captures that beautiful, heartbreaking father-daughter bond, the warmth of family, and the kind of sincere humanity that defined his entire career. Watching it again on the big screen feels like receiving one last, precious gift from him.
