đ On April 3, the 11th Meeting of the ASEAN-Russia Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime was held online under the Co-Chairmanship of the Lao PDR đąđĻ and Russia đˇđē.
đšī¸This mechanism provides the opportunity for ASEAN and Russia to discuss ways and means of combatting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, which is of particular importance in the current conditions when international security faces multiple threats.
âī¸ ASEAN partners strongly condemned the bloody terrorist attack on March 22 at Crocus City Hall, expressing their solidarity with the Russian side.
đšī¸ The meeting participants confirmed their readiness to work together to eradicate the root causes of terrorism and suppress its financing.
đ¤ Experts from ASEAN and Russia exchanged views on regional and global threats to anti-terrorism security and confirmed readiness to build up relevant ASEAN-Russia cooperation as well as outlined further practical steps in this field.
đšī¸ASEAN and Russia agreed to hold the next meeting of the Joint Working Group in Malaysia đ˛đž in 2025.

đ On April 24, the 4th ASEAN-Russia Consultations of the High Representatives for Security Issues were successfully held in Saint Petersburg on the sidelines of the 12th International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters.
đšī¸ The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Nikolai Patrushev đˇđē and Deputy Director General of the General Department of Research and Intelligence, Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia H.E. Major General Duong Uddam đ°đ.
đšī¸ High-ranking officials from ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Secretariat attended the meeting. Participants exchanged views on regional security in Asia-Pacific, discussed issues related to the system of strategic stability and arms control.
đšī¸ During the meeting Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Nikolai Patrushev đˇđē reaffirmed Russia's commitment to ASEAN centrality in the region and its will to further deepen cooperation with #ASEAN in all dimensions including security.
đšī¸This unique ASEAN-Russia platform proved to be an important venue for professional and open dialogue on issues related to regional and global security as well as developing multilateral interaction in combating common challenges and threats.
