๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On February 27, in New Delhi, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov took part in the closing ceremony of the 10th International Dance & Music Festival hosted by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

๐Ÿ‘ฅ India's External Affairs Minister Dr S.Jaishankar and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena attended the event as the Chief Guests. Among other guests were representatives of Indian government agencies and the diplomatic corps, public and cultural figures, and the media.

๐Ÿ’ฌ K.Nandini Singha, Director General, ICCR, and Vijay Kumar Singh, Vice Chairman, DDA, delivered welcome addresses.

๐ŸŽต The evening's programme included joint and individual performances by folk song and dance ensembles from Russia ("Rainbow", Voronezh), India, Mongolia, Rwanda, and South Africa, which were warmly received by the audience.

โžก๏ธ The show in the capital was the closing one in a series of concerts dedicated to the Hindu festival, Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, and held earlier in the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On March 1, Russian cosmonaut, participant of three ISS expeditions Oleg Artemyev had a meeting with Indiaโ€™s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the NXT Conclave hosted by the ITV Network.

Oleg Artemyev presented the Indian leader with the flags of the two countries that had been onboard the ISS, as well as the book โ€œOn the Moonโ€ by outstanding Russian theoretical space scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky.

๐Ÿ›ฐ In turn, Narendra Modi highly praised the level of international cooperation in space exploration, and specifically noted the bilateral collaboration between Russia and India on space projects, including our countryโ€™s contribution to Indiaโ€™s national manned space mission โ€œGaganyaanโ€.

๐ŸŽต Students of the Alexander Kadakin School of the diplomatic mission performed creative numbers.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Russian cosmonaut, participant of three ISS expeditions Oleg Artemyev was the chief guest. The festivities were also attended by students and teachers of Russian studies of the University of Delhi and the Jawaharlal Nehru University.

๐Ÿ–ผ On March 4, the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi will host the inauguration of the long-awaited exhibition "Nicholas Roerich. The Eternal" dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the great artist.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The ceremony will be graced with the presence of Indian Minister of Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov.

๐ŸŽจ The exposition covers the so-called "Indianโ€ period of the artist's work and features about 80 works by the artist, as well as several paintings and a sketch by his son Svetoslav Roerich, from ten museums and galleries in the country, as well as private collections.

โ—๏ธ In 1979, Nicholas Roerich's artistic legacy was recognized by the Government of India as part of the National Cultural Heritage, and the Russian artist himself is included in the list of nine masters of Indian art, named "nine treasures" (Navratna).

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿฅž ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ A two-day cultural programme dedicated to Maslenitsa for students studying the Russian language at the Maharaja Sayajirao University (Vadodara) was arranged.

โœจ As part of the event, the students performed Russian songs, recited poetry, staged scenes from folk tales, danced traditional folk dances, and participated in tug-of-war, sack races, and musical chairs. The highlight of the celebration was the traditional burning of a Maslenitsa effigy, symbolizing the farewell to winter and the welcoming of spring.

๐Ÿ“– The Russian House extends its special gratitude to the faculty members of the Russian Language Department โ€” Dr Indu Shekhar, Dr Kaushal Kishore, and Dr Sushant Saini โ€” for their support and assistance in organizing the event. Works of Russian literature in English were presented to the university library. More than 100 people participated in the event.

๐Ÿฅž On February 28, the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University in Varanasi hosted a round table entitled "Maslenitsa: Russian Spring Celebration in Indian Perspective".

๐Ÿ’ฌ Dr Neeraj Dhankhar, Professor of Russian Language at the Department of English and Other Foreign Languages, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. She noted many similarities between the Russian traditions of Maslenitsa and the Indian celebrations of Holi.

๐ŸŒณ On March 1, as part of the international campaign "Remembrance Garden", a ceremonial planting of 80 bougainvillea saplings took place in the park at the ะกhandigarh War Memorial.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The event was attended by Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Chandigarh, Maheshinder Singh Sidhu, Municipal Councillor of Chandigarh, Ekaterina Lazareva, Third Secretary of the Russian Embassy in India, Ekaterina Semenushkova, Head of the ANO "Center for the Development of Social and Cultural Relations "Atlas" and the Indian branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Volunteers of Victory" (the organizer of the event), Hemant Gupta, representative of the "Prayaas Youth Welfare Society", students and teachers of the Alexander Kadakin School of the diplomatic mission, public figures and journalists.

๐ŸŒฑ The "Remembrance Garden" campaign is held annually in all regions of Russia and abroad. The main goal of the large-scale ecological and patriotic project is to plant 27 million trees in memory of each person who perished during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

๐Ÿ”น It is planned that in March to May the "Remembrance Garden" initiative, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, will also be implemented in other cities of India.

โ˜๐Ÿป Denis Alipov noted that the heritage of the Roerich family is a "secret ingredient" that underlies the Russian-Indian civilizational closeness, mutual interest and time-tested friendship.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The audience was also addressed by the Chief Guest, Indiaโ€™s Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and NGMA Director General Dr Sanjeev Kishor Gautam.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The event dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Nicholas Roerich, was attended by representatives of Indian government agencies and the diplomatic corps, public, academic and cultural circles, the media, and Russian compatriots.

๐ŸŽต Following the inauguration, the folklore ensemble "Bermyanchek" and the folk group "Zakaria" from the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, performed traditional songs and dances.

๐Ÿ–ผ The evening ended with a tour of the exhibition, which included about 80 paintings by Nicholas Roerich, as well as several canvases by his son, Svetoslav Roerich, from various Indian museums and private collections.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Rekha Gupta attended the event as the Chief Guest. Among the speakers at the thematic sessions were former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and UN Police Adviser Dr Kiran Bedi, former Minister of Women and Child Development of India Smriti Irani and former Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi.

๐Ÿ”น The Russian side was represented by Founder of the Trade & Investment Company "Consult Invest ITIC", Director of the international Award "Top 100 BRICS Entrepreneurs" Tatiana Seliverstova, Founder & CEO of the "BioFoodLab" company Elena Shifrina and IT HR specialist Daria Klesova.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The forum's sessions included a discussion of gender equality issues, a presentation of a special commemorative book, and an award ceremony for the forum's participants for their contribution to the women empowerment.

๐ŸŽต The highlight of the event was musical and choreographic performances by representatives of Russia (folklore groups "Kalinka" and "Indanza"), India, and China.

๐Ÿ’ฌ During a panel discussion with the ambassadors of Argentina, Mongolia and South Africa, Roman Babushkin congratulated the University on the launch of this initiative and expressed confidence that its implementation will expand cooperation between Russian and Indian universities in training of specialists in regional studies.

โ˜๐Ÿป He also spoke about the Russian experience of training diplomats-Indologists, many of whom, including the legendary former Ambassador of Russia to India, Alexander Kadakin, made an outstanding contribution to the development of bilateral strategic partnership.
