🇷🇺🇮🇳 On February 1, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov addressed the opening ceremony of the New Delhi World Book Fair, at which Russia is the Focus Country in 2025.

☝🏻 He underscored that it was a great honour for Russia to participate in the exhibition in such a role, as well as pointed out that the event would be a brilliant opportunity to explore new areas of Russian-Indian literary cooperation.

👥 President of India Droupadi Murmu officially inaugurated the fair. The ceremony was attended by Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education of India, Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education of India, Prof Milind Sudhakar Marathe, Chairman of the National Book Trust of India (NBT), Yuvraj Malik, Director of the NBT, and Alexei Varlamov, prominent writer, Head of the Russian delegation.

📚 During the event, Droupadi Murmu, accompanied by Denis Alipov, visited the Russian stand, noting that Russia's high representation at the book exhibition will contribute to strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 On February 1, the VK Global Publications stall at the New Delhi World Book Fair hosted a presentation of the workbook “Let’s Write in Russian”.

✍️ The authors of the book are Prof Kiran Singh Verma, Chairperson, Centre of Russian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Dr Sonu Saini, Assistant Professor, CRS, JNU.

👥 Among the participants of the event were diplomats of the Russian Embassy in India as well as Dr Elena Remizova, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Representation Office in India, who addressed the audience.

☝🏻 In 2025, Russia is participating in the New Delhi World Book Fair as the Focus Country.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin arrived on an official visit to the Republic of India.

In New Delhi, issues of Russian-Indian cooperation in the economic, socio-cultural, educational and technological spheres, as well as the further development of inter-parliamentary dialogue will be discussed.

Meetings of the Chairman with the Indian leadership and a visit to both houses of the Parliament of India are planned.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 The delegation of the State Duma headed by Vyacheslav Volodin attended the plenary sessions of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Parliament of India.

Members of both chambers of the Parliament greeted the Chairman of the State Duma and the deputies with applause.

The delegation of the State Duma also visited the Parliament Museum and the Constitution Hall.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 The Russian State Duma delegation headed by Vyacheslav Volodin visited the New Delhi World Book Fair 2025.

They examined the stands presented there by Russian publishers, some of which include a section dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The New Delhi World Book Fair is held annually on the territory of the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center. In addition to numerous Indian publishing houses and cultural institutions, about 40 countries, including Russia, exhibit their book products. This year, Russia is participating in the fair as the Focus Country.

👥 The group consists of Russian-speaking women living in India. Other artists also took part in the event, including the dance group "Indanza" and students of the Alexander Kadakin School of the Russian Embassy in India.

🟣 The meeting of Russian and Indian authors and interpreters took place on the sidelines of the New Delhi World Book Fair 2025.

👥 Among the participants of the round table were prominent literary critic and Director of the State Literary Museum Dmitry Bak, Chairman of the Association of Unions of Writers and Publishers of Russia and Member of the State Duma Sergey Shargunov, popular writer Anna Shipilova and members of the Russian delegation at the fair.

💬 The need to strengthen the work on translating contemporary authors was noted, current problems facing interpreters of literary texts were discussed, plans were outlined for the implementation of joint creative initiatives — from publishing a special "Indian" edition of the "Yunost" magazine to establishing a prize for translators of the two countries.
