In celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of the revered Russian artist and philosopher Nicholas Roerich, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata, Russian House in Kolkata and Ambuja Neotia Group hosted the launch of Roerich’s World in Poetry, authored by Professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University Meeta Narain, on November 25, 2024, at Gorky Sadan.

This work pays special attention to the works of N.Roerich and his spiritual connection with India, the main leitmotif of which is culture as the main element uniting peoples.

Reflecting on her work, Professor Narain shared, “This book is inspired by the huge impact Roerich had on my life. For him, ‘culture’ was a magical concept that intertwined every aspect of human life. His creations – be they paintings, poetry, essays, or fairy tales – are like waves of the same river, harmonising and illuminating one another.”
