๐Ÿ“† #OTD, 50 years ago, on April 19, 1975, Indiaโ€™s first satellite named after the eminent astronomer and mathematician, Aryabhata, was launched into space.

๐Ÿ›ฐ Designed and constructed by the Indian Space Research Organization to study the Sun, the Earth's ionosphere and cosmic X-ray sources, the satellite was launched into orbit by the Soviet Union from the Kapustin Yar cosmodrome in the Astrakhan Region by the Kosmos-3M launch vehicle.

๐Ÿค This launch became another important milestone in the development of bilateral cooperation in space exploration.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On April 21, in New Delhi, as part of the โ€œRising Starsโ€ initiative organized by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory jointly with the Russian Foreign Ministry and the โ€œRusskiy Mirโ€ Foundation, the Neemrana Music Foundation hosted a master class on opera singing and piano playing.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Project participants โ€” postgraduate and undergraduate students of the Conservatory Stanislav Chernukhin, Karina Khovalyg and Mikhail Loginov shared their experience with their Indian peers interested in classical music.

๐ŸŽต During the event, which was also attended by young musicians from Russia, France and Germany living in the Indian capital, opera arias and piano works by Russian composers were performed.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On April 22, as part of the "Rising Stars" initiative organized by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory jointly with the Russian Foreign Ministry and the โ€œRusskiy Mirโ€ Foundation, the India International Centre in New Delhi hosted a concert of the conservatory postgraduate students Stanislav Chernukhin, Karina Khovalyg and Mikhail Loginov.

๐ŸŽต During the event, which attracted a full house, operatic works of the Russian and world classics were performed, as well as wartime songs, including "Smuglyanka", which the musicians sang as an encore.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The concert was attended by representatives of local business, public, cultural and journalistic circles, the diplomatic corps, students of music and art universities, compatriots.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On April 23, as part of the "Rising Stars" initiative organized by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory jointly with the Russian Foreign Ministry and the โ€œRusskiy Mirโ€ Foundation, the Russian Embassy in India hosted a chamber concert of opera music dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations.

๐ŸŽต The programme of performances by postgraduate and undergraduate students of the Conservatory Stanislav Chernukhin, Karina Khovalyg and Mikhail Loginov included classical operatic works by Russian and foreign composers, as well as wartime songs.

โ˜๐Ÿป Delivering a vote of thanks, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov underscored the importance of supporting young talents and organizing such events to promote Russian-Indian cultural exchange.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ The event was attended by senior officials of Indian ministries and government agencies, prominent representatives of local business, public and cultural circles, the diplomatic corps and media, Russian compatriots.

๐Ÿฉฐ On April 25, the Russian House in New Delhi hosted the annual concert of the cultural centreโ€™s Russian Ballet School.

โ˜๐Ÿป The audience was addressed by DCM & Minister Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in India Roman Babushkin and Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India Elena Remizova who underscored the significance of organising such events for further strengthening of the two countriesโ€™ cultural dialogue.

Young artists from the dance studio took to the stage under the guidance of professional choreographer, former soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Galina Vishnyakova.

๐Ÿ˜ Their performance of ballet numbers from classical productions by Pyotr Tchaikovsky became a real highlight of the evening. Graceful movements and impeccable technique immersed the audience in a magical atmosphere, reminding them of the eternal beauty of the Russian ballet.

Complementing the dance programme, at the foyer of the Russian House, a photo exhibition provided by the Russian National Museum of Music and dedicated to the life and creative path of Tchaikovsky was opened.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ On May 2, during her working visit to India, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova had a meeting with Indian Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw.

๐ŸŽฌ The parties discussed the bilateral cooperation in cinematography, as well as the establishment of the Eurasian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and the Open Eurasian Film Award "Diamond Butterfly". More than 20 countries, including India, have already joined the initiative.

๐Ÿค Filmmakers from Russia and India are engaged in a fruitful dialogue, sharing their experiences. Exchange festivals of national cinema are regularly held in different cities. Joint filmmaking is developing โ€” the Russian-Indian movie "Pearl", whose shooting took place in India in 2024, is under production.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Olga Lyubimova also took part in the Global Media Dialogue as part of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit 2025 (WAVES 2025) in Mumbai, during which she elaborated on the specifics of Russian film production.

๐Ÿ’ฌ They discussed topical issues of the Russian-Indian cooperation, as well as the aggravation of Indian-Pakistani relations following the terrorist attack near Pahalgam.

โ˜๐Ÿป Sergey Lavrov called for the settlement of disagreements between New Delhi and Islamabad by political and diplomatic means on a bilateral basis in accordance with the provisions of the Simla Agreement of 1972 and the Lahore Declaration of 1999.

๐Ÿค๐Ÿป The Ministers also discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and high levels.
