📆 #OTD, 156 years ago, on November 18, 1868, on the initiative of outstanding Russian chemist and inventor Dmitri Mendeleev, the Russian Chemical Society was founded.

🟣In its likeness, in 1872, the Physical Society was formed at St. Petersburg University, and in 1878, two scientific groups merged, which resulted in the creation of the Russian Society of Physics and Chemistry.

🇷🇺 Today, the successor of that organization is considered to be the Russian Chemical Society named after Dmitri Mendeleev, headed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aslan Tsivadze, which is engaged in the popularization of science and holds numerous conferences and forums.
