๐Ÿ“บ Watch the new documentary Foreign Fighters of Donbas based on the stories of the foreign volunteers who risk their lives on a daily basis to protect civilians in #Donbass.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The Ukrainian nationalists donโ€™t care about the locals. They treat them very badly, like a human shields. They left them there without food or water". These are the words of an Italian volunteer with the codename Spartak. He came to Donbass to protect civilians from the aggression of the Ukrainian army.

This video came from 2016. It was the 2nd year of the Kiev's regime punitive operation against people of #Donbass. Kids of the Grey Zone were used to shelling and the fire of machine guns. Instead of playing toys like their peers in Kiev or Lvov they collected bullets from yards and played with mortar shells. Some of them feared thunderstorms more than artillery fire. They had seen no peceful life yet.

โ–ถ๏ธDried up spring: Donetsk has been without water for almost a year. Due to Ukrainian shelling, the filtration and pumping stations do not work, and the boiler facilities are destroyed. Reservoirs are practically empty.

Cold water is provided to the apartments for a couple of hours once every few days. But it doesnโ€™t reach the upper floors: there is not enough pressure. Taking a bath is a forgotten luxury for the people of Donetsk - the last time people had access to hot water was last spring. They hope to have enough water for cooking and washing. For doing the laundry they collect rain water.

It is much more difficult for the medics. For example, the hemodialysis unit at the local hospital needs 30 tons of water a day. The doctors simply cannot work without it.

The people in Donbass are trying to survive this water blockade. Amid the shelling, wells are being drilled in the yards of private houses and businesses. Water supplies are contained in cisterns. Some people, like schoolboy Elnur with his father, distributes drinking water to residents with his old car completely free of charge. Learn more about them in our new film Water: Donetsk's Lifeline.

๐Ÿ“ฐ We were surprised by the stubborn ignorance of the real situation & lack of any compassion to the people of #Donbass, who have been exterminated with impunity by the Kiev regime for the 9th year already. Check out our last weekโ€™s #FakesExposed report โžก๏ธ here

Nine years ago, the Donetsk People's Republic declared independence. People said 'no' to the results of the Kiev Maidan and declared their right to speak Russian, to honor the memory of the victorious soldiers, but not Nazi accomplices. After that, Kiev launched full-scale military operations. Thousands of civilians were killed, including young children.

We have collected for you a selection of documentaries about how the DPR has lived for the last nine years:

Donbass War: Airport. Part 1. The fighting for the Donetsk airport began on May 26, 2014. Residents of the city call this date the day when the world ended. After the airport was occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, it became a constant source of tension.

Donbass War: Airport. Part 2. The documentary describes how the militia forces liberated the Donetsk airport from the Ukrainian invaders.

Donbass: I'm Alive! Mariupol residents had to survive under the shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and even endure torture. They've all been through hell. Now people are happy that they are alive and believe in the best.

Dr Donbass: Behind the Frontline. Volunteer doctors go to the firing line to evacuate the wounded. They say it can be scary under shelling. But the most important thing for them is to fulfill their duty.

Water: Donetsk's Lifeline. As a result of shelling by Ukrainian artillery, residents of Donetsk have been living without water for almost a year. How do people survive?
