🚴🏊‍♂️ The VIII World Games of Young Compatriots started in Moscow, participants came from more than 30 countries. Chess player Prithvir Prokhorov from Kolkata is taking part from India at the world games.
👦 The young participant shared his emotions about the upcoming trip to Russia: “For me, this is the first serious competition at this level that will be held in Russia. In anticipation of a big event, I hope to show my best side at the youth games and get to know the modern cultural life of Russia better.
👥 A total of 450 athletes will take part in the games.
🔹 They will compete in popular school sports: basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, wrestling and swimming, as well as in the “Dialogues in Russian” competition program.
✅ Since 2015, Rossotrudnichestvo, together with the Russian Ministry of Sports and the All-Russian School Sports Federation, has been organizing the World Games of Young Compatriots.

🏢 A seminar dedicated to Russia Day was held at the Russian House in New Delhi.
👨 Director Oleg Osipov told the assembled Indian students about the history and significance of the Russian Day holiday. A quiz was organized for local students to test their knowledge of the traditional state symbols of Russia: the coat of arms and flag.
✅ Those present were also presented with a video where the anthem of the Russian Federation was performed by Russian singers from different parts of our vast country.
🇷🇺 Russia Day is an important public holiday of the Russian Federation, celebrated annually on June 12. On this day, many Russian cities host many festive events in which citizens of all ages take part.
👥 Students of Delhi universities and Russian language courses of the RCSC attended the seminar.

🎓International Student Week opens in St. Petersburg

🇮🇳From June 10 to 15, 2024, 50 students from Indian universities will become students of the St. Petersburg HSE as part of the international Student Week of the HSE University - St. Petersburg.

👨‍🏫Bachelor's and Master's students from fifteen of the best Indian universities will attend lectures, workshops and master classes from HSE teachers and experts in economics, design, social and computer sciences.

🖼Guests will also get to know the city, walk along the main avenues and see the sights of St. Petersburg - the Hermitage and Peterhof.

🤝The event will be the first such experience for the St. Petersburg campus and will strengthen international cooperation with partner universities.

The “Candle of Memory” event was held at the Russian House in New Delhi as a sign of admiration for the participants of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), veterans of the Home Front, and millions of people tortured in concentration camps.
👱‍♂️ Director of the Russian House in New Delhi Oleg Osipov reminded Indians and Russian compatriots that June 22 - the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow - is one of the most tragic pages in the history of our country. “In 1941, the USSR was attacked not only by Nazi Germany. On the same day Italy and Romania declared war on, and on June 25 - Finland. The Wehrmacht included military units from Spain, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Holland, Norway, Croatia and other European countries,” he noted.
📎The All-Russian action “Candle of Memory” symbolizes the unification of the people, their respect for the past and the desire to preserve peace and tranquility on earth.

🏢 The film “The Flying Ship” was shown at the Russian House in New Delhi.
🎬 This is a film version of the cartoon of the same name, created in 1979 by the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The main plot is preserved, but changes have been made to it.
✅ According to the audience, “The Flying Ship” turned out to be colorful, witty, and fascinating. The film evokes the aesthetics of Russian folk tales, the revival of folklore and legends, and also features traditional Russian clothing.
🗣 “We associate the film with beautiful and kind songs that create a fabulous atmosphere,” noted visitors to the film.
👥 Indian university students, as well as children of Russian compatriots and diplomats, became moviegoers.
