📚 One of the main achievements of Nikolay Pirogov was the creation of atlases and textbooks on anatomy, which are still used in medical schools.

💉 He became the founder of battlefield medicine. Taking part in the Crimean War (1853-1856), Nikolay Pirogov was the first to use a plaster cast to treat fractures, and also developed new methods of anesthesia.
