On September 22, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with a delegation of the Arab League (LAS) Contact Group on the Ukrainian Crisis on the sidelines of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Sergey Lavrov spoke in detail about the causes of the Ukrainian crisis, which was the result of the 2014 coup supported by a number of Western countries, and updated the contact group on the situation in Ukraine in the context of Russia's special military operation. At the same time, he emphasised that Russia’s unconditional priorities were the protection of the civilian population of Donbass, demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine.

☝️ Russia praised the Arab League’s balanced position on this issue, which was reaffirmed during the latest meeting of the Arab League foreign ministers’ council, held in Cairo on September 6, 2022.

❗️The parties underscored the importance of continued cooperation between Russia and the Arab League, including in the format of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum.

🔹 The Ministers exchanged views on major global and regional issues on the United Nations agenda in the political, security, economic, financial and sustainable development spheres, as well as on intra-BRICS activities.

​🌏 Today, on September 24, five international observers from Italy and Slovenia are working at the polling stations at the DPR Embassy: Marco Marchese, Alessandro Svab, Katya Kerzan, Marijana Serl and Ivo Stark.

The observers came to make sure that everything goes according to the established norms and principles, the voting is transparent and there are no violations. The delegates observed process of expression of will, discussed the document flow with the members of the commissions, and also noted the large number of people wishing to vote.

🇮🇹 Representatives of Italy shared their impressions of what they saw. So, Marco Marchese noted: "I see that everything is well organized. No violations have been found so far. Everything is transparent. Everything is organized qualitatively."

🇸🇮 Alessandro Svab, in turn, said: "From my point of view, the organization is excellent. It is very important that representatives of various cities are present. It is also important to state the absolute transparency of the process itself. I see that the ballot boxes are transparent, we can see the voting process itself personally."

🇷🇺🤝🇮🇳 On September 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Minister of External Affairs of India Dr S.Jaishankar on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Following agreements between the leaders of the two countries reached on the sidelines of the summit of the SCO Heads of State in Samarkand, they discussed topical bilateral issues, as well as some regional and global problems.

Ministers emphasised the firm intention to strengthen bilateral interaction on the entire range of issues of mutual interest.

⚡️⚡️Aftermath of Attack on Hotel Where RT Staying

The building was reportedly hit by a HIMARS strike.

Preliminary data suggests two rockets were fired at the hotel, but one was taken out.

RT's Murad Gazdiev and the crew have been helping remove people still stuck. Two have been killed, including a local politician.

Murad earlier explained that if Washington gives the go-ahead on such strikes... they have apparently targeted officials and journalists.
