Antisemitism has become part of school life for most Jewish students in England. A government-commissioned report found that 3 in 5 of them have been targeted by it.
Other students see it too: 1 in 5 of all students say they’ve seen antisemitism at school, and under half believe that it would be dealt with if they reported it.
“I was the only Jewish student at my school, and I experienced lots of antisemitic bullying. There were lots of comments around gas chambers, people telling me that I belonged in a gas chamber. And I also saw a wider culture in school of swastikas and Nazi salutes becoming quite normalized,” says Jonathan Frisher (17) from northern England.
The government commissioned Sir David Bell, once a top schools inspector, to lead the review. The report will provide 27 recommendations which are reportedly set to be adopted in full.

Report: A Chabad Hasidic man was stabbed by a woman in Manhattan’s Diamond District Wednesday evening in what the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating as a possible antisemitic attack.
According to eyewitness reports, the attacker passed by several other pedestrians without incident before targeting the victim - who was visibly dressed in traditional Jewish attire - stabbing him with what appeared to be a syringe or needle. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Manhattan Shomrim is asking anyone with security camera footage or dashcam video from the area to come forward immediately.

🔴One month after a pilot attempted to crash a flydubai plane into Ben Gurion Airport’s terminal, Israel is taking no chances. Israel has banned United Airlines pilot Sina Amjadian from entering Israeli airspace as a crew member, following allegations that he publicly expressed support for the Iranian regime and Hezbollah on social media.
The move comes as Israel is actively reviewing the social media activity and backgrounds of foreign pilots flying into Ben Gurion - a security gap exposed by last month’s flydubai attack, in which the Omani co-pilot had been previously flagged for radicalization but was never barred from flying the Dubai-Tel Aviv route.

O piloto indiano Smit Machchhar deu uma entrevista diretamente do hospital militar Zayed, em Abu Dhabi, em que foi atendido após ser esfaqueado diversas vezes por seu copiloto, Hamam al-Hammami. O incidente ocorreu em 30 de setembro, no voo 1073 da flydubai, que ia de Dubai a Tel Aviv.
Sangrando e sem forças, ele fez um último gesto, abrindo a porta da cabine para deixar que os passageiros israelenses entrassem e dominassem o agressor. Com isso, o controle da aeronave foi retomado e o avião pousou em segurança na Arábia Saudita.
“Posso dizer 100% que não desisti de salvar aquelas vidas em momento algum”, disse.
