Officially, 21% of people living in Paris are immigrants predominantly from West Africa and 49% in the ‘broader Paris region’ have at least one immigrant parent.

But many people visiting Paris claim the amount of immigrants they see demonstrates a different reality, they report barely seeing French people at all and claim the offical census data is botched.

Today I stopped for a coffee and while I sat there drinking it, I wondered why the woman at the counter felt the need to shout at me.

I wasn’t impolite but she had to raise her voice, like a dog barking she abruptly yelled my order back at me which really rattled my autism.

She was angry inside, but why?

What does a woman like that have to be angry about? She was relatively young, ‘liberated’ and making her taxable wage, she votes, she sleeps in a house with plumbing, probably scrolls Tinder daily to tee up another free dinner with the next poor bastard who thinks being nice is the way to her heart…

I suppose it’s all still just not good enough 🫠

Joel’s next bail hearing will be in April, this will be his next best shot at going home.

By the time this hearing rolls around, Joel will have served almost 5 months in a maximum security prison, in isolation and under a national security classification, serving what they call “pre-sentence detention”, for allegedly harassing a politician in a social media post.

He still hasn’t been found guilty of anything, the charge hasn’t been proven. Magistrates have denied his bail and held him in prison because of his political views & affiliations.

In the last 25 years, the political class shut down 6 of Australia’s 8 oil refineries, including all of our major refineries which supplied 100% of domestic petroleum in the 1980’s.

They were shut due to “lobbying” (read: bribery) from special interest groups and for “environmental reasons”.

25 years ago, we produced all of our own petrol.

Today we rely almost entirely on foreign imports and are at the mercy of overseas market manipulation. Workers are probably paying triple the price they would be if our own refineries were still operational.

But I guess knowing this makes me a ‘far right conspiracy theorist’ 🫠
