🚌Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces organised evacuation of 138 citizens of the Republic of Turkey and 10 citizens of Ukraine from the Kherson region of Ukraine to the territory of the Russian Federation.

▫️The evacuation was organised in accordance with requests from foreign embassies for assistance in ensuring the safe return of their citizens from the territory of Ukraine.

▫️In all, some 600 foreigners have been transported to the territory of the Republic of Crimea from Kherson region of Ukraine by Russian servicemen since the beginning of the special military operation.

Some Ukrainian Telegram channels are spreading a rumour that Russian troops in Severodonetsk destroyed a food storage because they wanted to leave civilians without food.

Truth:
No food of any kind was stored in that particular warehouse for a long time. Ukrainian nationalists were using it as an ammunition depot. But such a disguise did not work – the building was destroyed.

Огневые точки размещались в домах мирных жителей, которых выселяли на улицу или уничтожали. Там же боевики использовали 150 идущих перед ними мирных граждан в качестве «живого щита».

2 марта в Мариуполе боевики батальона «Азов» свезли местных жителей на территорию заминированного завода «Азовсталь». Планировался подрыв завода с последующим обвинением России в уничтожении гражданского населения.

13 марта в Никольском при отступлении батальона «Айдар» взяты в заложники 300 мирных жителей.

14 марта в результате удара кассетным боеприпасом по центру Донецка погиб 21 мирный житель, 36 человек получили ранения. Жертв этой атаки могло быть в десятки раз больше. Сработала только одна кассета из 50.

15 марта ВСУ обстреляли шахту в Донецке, когда под землей находились 294 человека.
Нацбатальоны и украинские военные пытают пленных. На имеющихся в открытом доступе видеозаписях из-под Харькова безоружным россиянам простреливают ноги, на головах пакеты, кто-то без сознания.

В школе Мариуполя, где размещались украинские боевики, найдено тело девушки. Ее долго пытали. На животе вырезана свастика. Руки оторваны.

Все эти зверства по отношению к мирным жителям осуществляются с использованием поставляемого странами Запада вооружения.

Призываем Верховного комиссара и УВКПЧ дать оценку этим фактам.

Statement by a representative of the Russian Federation during the interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Ukraine

(Geneva, March 30, 2022)

Mr. President,

We are extremely concerned with the mass violations of international humanitarian law and human rights by the Ukrainian military.

In Mariupol, militants of the Azov and the Right Sector nationalistic battalions fired at refugees who were trying to leave the city en route to Russia. Firing positions were established in residential buildings, the residents of which were either evicted or eliminated. The militants also used 150 civilians walking in front of them as "human shields".

On March 2, in Mariupol, militants of the Azov battalion took local residents to the territory of the Azovstal plant that was rigged with explosives. The plan was to blow up the plant and then accuse Russia of destroying the civilians.

On March 13, 300 civilians were taken hostage in Nikolskoye settlement during the retreat of the Aidar battalion.

On March 14, 21 civilians were killed and 36 received injuries as a result of a cluster missile strike in the center of Donetsk. There could have been dozens more victims of this attack. Only one cluster munition out of 50 detonated.

On March 15, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled a mine in Donetsk, when 294 people were underground.

The national battalions and the Ukrainian military torture their prisoners. On publicly available videos filmed near Kharkov unarmed Russians were shot through the legs, their heads were covered with rags, some were unconscious.

A woman’s body was found at a school in Mariupol, where Ukrainian militants used to station. She was tortured for a long time. A swastika was carved on her belly. Her arms were torn off.

All these atrocities against civilians are carried out using weapons supplied by Western countries.

We call on the High Commissioner and the OHCHR to assess these facts.

🇷🇺Russian and DPR servicemen evacuate civilians from Mariupol districts that remain in the area of possible shelling by Ukrainian nationalists

▫️During the day, more than 80 residents, including 14 children, were evacuated from the basements of residential buildings near the contact line.

▫️IFV-1 infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers were used to safely evacuate civilians from under AFU fire.

▫️The movements of the evacuation units were camouflaged with smoke.

▫️All people were taken to safe locations. The inhabitants affected by the shelling were provided with qualified medical assistance by Russian servicemen, including at the medical unit of the special-purpose medical unit.

▫️Maximum range of Tochka-U missile is 120 km. The warhead weighs 482kg and contains 20 fragmentation warheads, each 7.5kg, forming around 16,000 fragments.

▫️An analysis of the engagement radius of the warhead, as well as the characteristic position of Tochka-U missile's tail section, clearly confirm that it was launched from a south-western direction away from Kramatorsk.

▫️According to intelligence reports, one of the divisions of the 19th Missile Brigade armed with Tochka-U missile systems at the time of the strike on Kramatorsk was located near Dobropol'e in Donetsk Region, 45 km south-west of Kramatorsk. This area is still under the full control of the Ukrainian military grouping troops in Donbass.

▫️We emphasize once again that in carrying out the tasks of the special military operation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation treat the local population extremely humanely and do not strike at civilian infrastructure facilities, unlike the Ukrainian armed formations.

🔹Ukrainian neo-Nazis using unmanned aerial vehicles attacked buildings near Zaporozhye NPP with two 120mm mines.

▫️ This is not the first cynical provocation of the Kiev regime at the radiation hazardous facilities, organised by Western handlers, who, by realising their criminal goals, are putting millions of Ukrainian citizens in danger at the hands of Kiev.

🔹In addition, in Kurakhovka, Donetsk People's Republic, nationalists have mined two road bridges across Volch'ya River, which they intend to blow up and accuse the Russian Armed Forces of allegedly indiscriminate strikes on transport infrastructure in a well-established scenario with extensive coverage in the Ukrainian and Western media.

❗️We once again emphasize that during the special military operation, the Russian Armed Forces and military formations of Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics are not striking at civilian infrastructure facilities, are treating civilians extremely humanely and are providing civilians with comprehensive assistance and support.

❗Embassy comment on another anti-Russian statement by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

▪️ The Embassy has taken note of yet another anti-Russian statement by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, this time questioning Russia’s “moral right” to sit at the G20. We consider this a sign of London’s apparent despair amid the deadlocked efforts of British foreign policy to impose a perception of our country being internationally isolated on the global community.

▪️ We are puzzled to hear teachings about “moral rights” from a country, whose colonial crimes, committed almost in all corners of the former “empire on which the sun never set”, are still the subject of extensive studies and discussion around the world. If we start talking about morality, a legitimate question arises – by what right does the UK sit at the G20 alongside some countries which had in the past suffered themselves from the predatory, aggressive and bloody wars unleashed by London, the deception and looting of their people, as well as the massive removal of their national assets and cultural attractions.

▪️ We consider such statements especially hypocritical after the UK, together with NATO allies discredited itself by actively participating in illegal and aggressive military campaigns in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Syria, as well as in other countries of the Middle East and Africa. We would also like to recall the recent BBC investigations of war crimes committed by British soldiers in Afghanistan.

▪️We are well aware of the motives pushing the so-called “collective West”, including the UK, to persist with futile attempts to restore the former comfortable monopoly in international affairs and, for this purpose, to settle scores with independent states that conduct a sovereign policy based on national interests. In this regard we have to remind the FCDO that Western countries today account for only about 12 % of the world's population.

▪️We call on London to stop undermining the foundations of a successfully established and strengthening polycentric world order, with the G20 being one of its constituent parts, and to demonstrate a responsible and respectful approach to other countries and nations.

"More than two hundred years of history of the Russian-language education in Latvia has come to an end - on September 29, the Latvian Saeima approved in the final reading the transition of Russian schools into the Latvian language.

The ruling elite of the country once again gained its mercenary-minded goals at the expense of the Latvian younger generation, having denied children the right to a comfortable learning environment. Instead of taking advantage of the country's natural bilingualism, politicians stubbornly continue to fight the "wrong" language, destroying the Russian culture here.

"It is with deep indignation that we have received the news about the dismantling of memorials in Daugavpils and on the “Mound of Friendship".

Having grossly ignored the UN Human Rights Committee resolutions and in fact neglected the opinion of hundreds of thousands of residents of their own country, the Latvian ruling elite continues to cynically and defiantly mock the memory of the fallen heroes who saved the Latvians from the total extermination and to demolish to the ground the memorials established in their honor.

The motivation for it presented by the Latvian side looks absolutely awkward – the monuments, they say, represent a symbol of "the Russian aggression in Ukraine and glorification of the totalitarian regimes."

Russia has repeatedly made harsh public assessments of this shameful policy, saturated with savage Russophobia, nationalism and populist slogans. We are convinced that any attempts to justify the destruction of monuments are unacceptable. Such a phenomenon should have no place in the civilized world, regardless of the political conjuncture.

The complete connivance of the Latvia's partners in the European Union, who prefer to turn a blind eye on this both legally and morally criminal policy of Riga, cannot but cause alarm. Unfortunately, such inaction only unties the hands of local nationalists, instilling false confidence in the rightness of their own actions.

We call on the international community, specialized international organizations and reputable human rights NGOs to give a consolidated assessment of these barbaric escapades of the Latvian ruling elite and increase their influence on Riga."

"On January 30, 2023, there took place an appeal hearing on the case of the well-known Latvian social activist and journalist Y.Alekseyev, who for many years has been subjected to politically motivated persecution for his professional activity by the republic's authorities.

As a result, due to the lack of clear evidence, charges filed under the criminal law article "ammunition storage" were completely dropped. The result, one must admit, is quite logical – the case made up in a hurry begins to simply fall apart.

Well, this once again confirms the correctness of our statements that Y.Alekseev became another victim of the Latvian "punitive justice". There is no doubt in the Russophobic context of the accusations fabricated by the local law enforcement agencies against our compatriot.  

We hope that international specialized structures, in particular, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media will finally give an adequate assessment of the lawlessness taking place in Latvia and put an end to the reprisal by the republic officials of independent Russian-speaking journalists."
