We’re excited to share some news: during our time in Ethiopia, the class held an informal meeting with local geologists to discuss the specifics of fieldwork. The Ethiopian colleagues watched several videos showcasing how field research is conducted across different territories of Russia 🇷🇺 They expressed great interest in exchanging experience in geological work and offered strong support for the Karpinsky Classes project. We appreciate your attention to our events!
🫂🖌️We also agreed that Ethiopian geologists will prepare an online lecture on the geology of Ethiopia, which will be broadcast across the entire Karpinsky Classes network.
Additionally, there was a promise to help complete our geological library at the Russian Center for Science and Culture!

🔵 International teams consisting of school students, as well as school graduates who have not yet started their university studies or were enrolled in the university not earlier than June 25, 2025 are invited to participate.
🔵 The working language of the event is English. The assignments are pre-negotiated and translated into national languages as well.
🔵 Organizers: Ministry of Education of Russia and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with the support of the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra.

🎓 The educational course for representatives of the radio sphere will be held from June 22 to 27, 2025 in Moscow. The trip will be held under the “New Generation” program.
What is waiting for you?
- immersion in the work of the international media group “Russia Today” and Sputnik radio;
- master classes from leading Russian media managers and radio experts;
- lectures on factchecking, the role of modern technologies, fakenews and working in social networks;
- practical lessons on creating audio news, analytical programs and your own podcast;
- networking and experience exchange with colleagues from all over the world.
To become a participant you need to:
🔸 be a broadcast correspondent or host a podcast;
🔸 provide examples of your work in audio format;
🔸 be between the ages of 25 and 35;
🔸 have foreign citizenship;
🔸 not have previously participated in the New Generation program;
🔸 write to the post office of the Russian House in your country for further information: [email protected]
🔸 familiarize yourself with the information in the block “Path of a participant of the New Generation program”. It is presented in Russian and English.

Ethiopian economist participated in
the open dialogue “The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth”
The open dialogue: "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth” was held between April 28-30 in Moscow.
Dr. Leta Sera Bedada from Jimma University participated as an essayist at this prestigious forum, presenting his essay titled "The Future of Trade in East Africa: Integration, Innovation, and Regional Collaboration".
In his essay, he advocated for the expansion of the East African Community (EAC) to include Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea, and Djibouti, alongside the existing eight member states. He emphasized that such integration would significantly enhance regional trade and improve living conditions across East Africa.
Dr. Leta highlighted Ethiopia’s pivotal role in IGAD (Intergovernmental Authority on Development), where it focuses on regional peace and security. He argued that Ethiopia, being the most populous nation in the region, should also take a leadership role in the EAC to further economic and infrastructural development.

On the platform of the Russian House, the famous Russian film producer Sergey Novozhilov and Vladimir Golovachev (Director of the Russian House) met with leaders of the Ethiopian film and cultural industry: Dr. Paulos Amero Ayaleu (Dean of the School of Theater, Film and Cultural Center at Addis Ababa University) and Ledea Debebe Ayele (Head of the University Film Festival and Events and Promotion Manager at Click Media).
The meeting was dedicated to strengthening partnerships in film and culture, including joint film projects and educational programs for students. The main topic of the conversation was to explore opportunities for cooperation between Russia and Ethiopia in the field of film production, as the Ethiopian film industry is experiencing a period of rapid growth and plays an important role in the development of the country.
The key point was the discussion of potential participation of Ethiopian representatives in the International Film Festival "Eurasia", which will allow to demonstrate the achievements of Ethiopian cinema to the international audience.
The meeting opens new opportunities for rapprochement between Russian and Ethiopian cinema, laying the foundation for cooperation between established and emerging filmmakers.

🕊 On May 7, despite the weather conditions, the "Immortal Regiment" event took place at the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia, dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
More than 100 participants carried portraits of their relatives who crushed Nazism and gave their lives in the name of protecting our Motherland from this "brown plague".
🎗️ We bow our heads before the bright memory of those who defended our Motherland and gave us the opportunity to live.

Студенты МГИМО, учащиеся Православной казачьей Свято-Владимирской гимназии Ставрополя и средней школы № 46 Донецкой Народной Республики объединились, чтобы продекламировать стихи, ставшие частью нашей истории, отразившие гордость за подвиги воинов-освободителей и боль за погибших от рук врага миллионов граждан нашей страны.
В их исполнении звучат строки Александра Твардовского «В тот день, когда окончилась война», бессмертная лирика Константина Симонова «Ты помнишь, Алеша, дороги Смоленщины» и «Жди меня, и я вернусь», а также произведение поэта Павла Корытника.
📖 Данный проект — «Кампания памяти» — призван стать мостом между поколениями. Его реализация стала возможна при поддержке секретаря Союза писателей России С.Ю.Рыбаса.

A teleconference united students of Russian language courses from Ethiopia and CAR
The Russian House in Addis Ababa hosted a videoconference dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
During the teleconference, students studying Russian in Ethiopia and CAR read poems about the Great Patriotic War by famous Russian poets (Alexander Tvardovsky, Anna Akhmatova, Konstantin Simonov) and Ethiopian authors (Kebede Mikael). A quiz with questions about WWII was also held.
At the end of the event, the participants sang a solemn song “Victory Day” in Russian and Sango.

Телемост объединил студентов курсов русского языка из Эфиопии и ЦАР
В Русском доме в Аддис-Абебе состоялась видеоконференция, посвященная празднованию 80-летия Победы в Великой Отечественной войне.
В ходе телемоста студенты, изучающие русский язык в Эфиопии и ЦАР, читали стихи о Великой Отечественной войне известных русских поэтов (Александра Твардовского, Анны Ахматовой, Константина Симонова) и эфиопских авторов (Кебеде Микаэля). Также была проведена викторина с вопросами о ВОВ.
В завершение мероприятия участники исполнили торжественную песню "День Победы" на русском языке и на языке санго.
The Russian House in Addis Ababa hosted a videoconference dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
During the teleconference, students studying Russian in Ethiopia and CAR read poems about the Great Patriotic War by famous Russian poets (Alexander Tvardovsky, Anna Akhmatova, Konstantin Simonov) and Ethiopian authors (Kebede Mikael). A quiz with questions about WWII was also held.
At the end of the event, the participants sang a solemn song “Victory Day” in Russian and Sango.

Телемост объединил студентов курсов русского языка из Эфиопии и ЦАР
В Русском доме в Аддис-Абебе состоялась видеоконференция, посвященная празднованию 80-летия Победы в Великой Отечественной войне.
В ходе телемоста студенты, изучающие русский язык в Эфиопии и ЦАР, читали стихи о Великой Отечественной войне известных русских поэтов (Александра Твардовского, Анны Ахматовой, Константина Симонова) и эфиопских авторов (Кебеде Микаэля). Также была проведена викторина с вопросами о ВОВ.
В завершение мероприятия участники исполнили торжественную песню "День Победы" на русском языке и на языке санго.
