JUST IN - Israeli forces seized the buffer zone with Syria: Netanyahu

Israel's Defense Minister Katz added: "PM Netanyahu and I instructed the Israeli military to seize the buffer zone and control points to ensure the protection of all Israeli communities in the Golan Heights."

The buffer zone with Syria divided the countries since their last full-scale war in 1973. Israeli forces have now taken over the Syrian side of Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights.
