🇳🇱 Mayor of Stadskanaal calls for calm after serious child abuse and destruction

Mayor Klaas Sloots of Stadskanaal has made an urgent appeal to the residents of the municipality in response to recent events.

Two mothers from Stadskanaal are suspected of having seriously abused their children, a 6-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy.

The suspects are friends of each other. Files from the Child Protection Board show that the girl was locked in the basement and forced to eat her own vomit. The abuses were filmed.

Following these facts, the children were removed from their mothers for safety and are currently being well cared for. Both mothers have been suspended from parental authority.

🇪🇺Big brother: From July, every new car in the EU will keep an eye on you via interior camera. The camera monitors the driver for being awake, alert and not distracted.

So you thought that "intelligent speed assistant" (ISA) that beeps when you go 1 km/h over the local speed limit (and is often very wrong) was already annoying?

Good news! Because Europe has some more ideas in terms of safety 😏

From July 2026, every new car sold in Europe must be equipped with ADDW (Advanced Driver Distraction Warning): a camera in the interior that continuously monitors your face.

In addition to a camera in the interior, Europe requires another gadget. From July, every new car and truck will have to be equipped with a brake light system that flashes in extreme braking situations.

So not only the warning lights (four indicators) come on during an abrupt braking maneuver, but also the brake lights will flash while breaking hard.

🇪🇺🇳🇱🇫🇷EuroPol: Cybercriminal VPN used by ransomware actors dismantled in global crackdown

VPN service featured in almost every major Europol-supported cybercrime investigation

A VPN service used by cybercriminals to conceal ransomware attacks, data theft, and other serious offences has been dismantled in an international operation led by France and the Netherlands, with support from Europol and Eurojust.

For years, the service, known as ‘First VPN’, was promoted on Russian-speaking cybercrime forums as a trusted tool for remaining beyond the reach of law enforcement. It offered users anonymous payments, hidden infrastructure, and services designed specifically for criminal use.

‘First VPN’ had become deeply embedded in the cybercrime ecosystem, appearing in almost every major cybercrime investigation supported by Europol in recent years.

Criminals used it to conceal their identities and infrastructure while carrying out ransomware attacks, large-scale fraud, data theft, and other serious offences.

The coordinated action took place between 19 and 20 May and targeted the infrastructure behind one of the most widely used VPN services in the cybercrime underground.

During the action days, authorities:

🟠Interviewed the administrator and conducted a house search in Ukraine

🟠 Dismantled 33 servers linked to the criminal service

🟠Disrupted infrastructure used to support cybercriminal activity worldwide. 

The target domain names have been shut down thanks to the joint international law enforcement and judicial cooperation with the following domain names seized:

🟠 1vpns.net
🟠 1vpns.org
🟠 Associated onion domains

Users of the criminal service have been notified of the shutdown and informed that they have been identified.

According to media reports, the incident took place at a refugee center. Police were called there following reports of vandalism and knife threats.
