I even called for a lunch that wasn't scheduled.
I don't think I've ever done that where we didn't have lunch and say, "Let's have lunch." You know why? Because I like him.

โ๏ธTrump claims he personally blocked Turkiye from entering the US-Israel war on Iran on the Iranian side
During the NATO summit in Ankara, US President Donald Trump claimed that his personal diplomatic intervention single-handedly stopped Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from mobilizing Turkiye's massive military against Israel.
Praising Erdogan's hospitality and touting Turkiye's formidable millions-strong armed forces, Trump asserted that Erdogan "wanted to" and "was going to" intervene on Iran's side due to his deep hostility toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump used the narrative of his supposedly war-preventing influence to justify rewarding Turkiye, publicly dangling the return of advanced F-35 fighter jets and the lifting of defense sanctions despite vocal, furious protests from Netanyahu.
The claims have sent shockwaves through the summit, triggering an immediate diplomatic fallout as Israel fiercely lobbies Washington against equipping a country it labels a volatile regional threat.

โ๏ธJapan building first spy agency since World War II with western help
Japan is building its first centralized intelligence agency since World War II, privately seeking advice from the US, Australia, and Germany on technology, staffing, and priorities, The New York Times reported on 13 July.
The agency is budgeted at roughly $407m, expected to be operational by December, and set to coordinate around 33,000 intelligence personnel across the police, defense ministry, and foreign affairs ministry.
It forms part of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's push to shed postwar restrictions on defense and security in response to what Tokyo calls multiplying threats from China, Russia, and North Korea.
The plan has drawn criticism from China, which accuses Takaichi of militarism, and from Japanese lawmakers such as Mizuho Fukushima, who said the agency "infringes upon the right to privacy and other rights and paves the way for a surveillance society."

7/10 - Erdogan, JD Vance 'blocked' CIA-Mossad Op For Kurdish Invasion Of Iran: Report
The Turkish government reportedly feared that chaos resulting from regime change in Iran would create new threats on its border
Turkiye prevented an Israeli and US-backed Kurdish invasion of Iran at the start of the war on the Islamic Republic, i24News reported on 8 July.
Kurdish militias were reportedly ready to begin the ground operation, but the US canceled it due to โoppositionโ from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Senior Israeli sources told i24News that US intelligence agencies had planned the Kurdish operation for months. The role that Israel's foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, might have played was not discussed with the Israeli channel.
US intelligence agents held meetings with Kurdish armed groups, while providing them with weaponry and military training.
Israeli officials claimed that US Vice President JD Vance played a role in blocking the US-Israel-backed operation by leaking details to Turkish officials, allowing them to stop it.
