"Following the aggressions and acts of hostility carried out by the brutal Zionist regime in south Lebanon and the Dahiye area, which were carried out with the support of criminal America, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran delivered a painful response to this regime in support of the oppressed people of Lebanon."

It is a response from which the illegitimate Zionist regime and its supporters should have learned a lesson.

Accordingly, the cessation of armed forces operations is hereby announced. However, it is emphasized that should the aggressions and hostile acts continue, including in south Lebanon, much more severe and crushing measures than before will follow."

Iran Announces ‘Operation Victory’ As Yemen Closes Bab Al-Mandab Strait To Israeli Shipping

Israel launched heavy strikes on Iran on Monday, hours after Tehran retaliated to Tel Aviv’s strike on Beirut's southern suburb

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced “Operation Victory” on 8 June, after launching new barrages of ballistic missiles at sites in Israel following Israeli attacks on the Islamic Republic.

The escalation, which was triggered by Israel’s brutal war on Lebanon, has also seen Yemen close the Bab al-Mandab Strait to Israeli shipping.

The IRGC said in a statement that Operation Victory targeted “important centers of the strategic air bases of Nevatim and Tel-Nof.”

It added that the operation was carried out in “response to the child-killing Zionist regime’s missile aggression against several radar sites in three parts of the country.”

“Combat and operational units are fully prepared to carry out extensive operations on all fronts and have prepared action plans to respond to the enemy’s scenarios.”

Earlier on Monday, Israel attacked Najafabad in Isfahan province, as well as Tehran and Tabriz. Iranian state broadcaster IRIB and IRNA news agency reported multiple powerful explosions.

Israel also struck the Karun Mahshahr Petrochemical Complex in Bandar-e-Mashahr, Khuzestan Province.

The complex is responsible for approximately 28 percent of Iran’s petrochemical production and has temporarily been shut down.

Following the Israeli attacks, all flights from Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran were suspended for an indefinite period.

Iranian forces responded with ballistic missile launches toward Israel. 

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) also announced a missile attack on Israel on 8 June, while declaring its closure of the Bab al-Mandab Strait to Israeli shipping. 

“In an effort to break the unjust and oppressive siege imposed by the US enemy on our people and the free and proud nations of the axis in Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran, the Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a missile strike targeting sensitive Israeli objectives,” the YAF said. 

It also announced a “complete and total naval blockade against the Israeli enemy in the Red Sea, and we consider all enemy movements a military target for our armed forces from the moment of this statement's announcement.”

The escalation came after Israeli jets bombed the southern suburb of Beirut on Sunday. Iran responded with a ballistic missile attack on Ramat David Air Base. 

US President Donald Trump claimed he would call Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and urge him not to respond after Iran's late-night strikes on Israel.

Tehran had repeatedly warned that strikes on Beirut would trigger escalation. Iran is demanding that Lebanon be included in any agreement with the US.

Visual Data Reveals Extent Of Systematic Israeli White Phosphorus Attacks On South Lebanon: Report

Lebanon's Ministry of Environment has formally accused the Israeli military of committing 'an act of ecocide,' resulting in an estimated $25 billion in damages

A report by The New York Times (NYT) published on 6 June gathers thorough documentation that the Israeli military has repeatedly deployed white phosphorus over populated areas in southern Lebanon during its ongoing war and invasion of the country.

Visual evidence collected by NYT, including verified social media footage and news coverage, shows distinctive smoke trails and airbursts over cities like Nabatieh and Tyre, as well as smaller towns like Qlayaa, Khiam, and Yohmor, with incidents documented as recently as May 2026. [See 1, and 2]

The body of evidence gathered by numerous international observers and human rights groups is extensive and corroborates these findings. 

Amnesty International’s Crisis Evidence Lab and Human Rights Watch (HRW) have verified dozens of videos and photos showing the airbursting of US-made M825A1 artillery shells. 

While the Israeli military maintains that its use of these munitions is intended for smoke screens and complies with international law, human rights experts assert that deploying such an indiscriminate incendiary substance in civilian-heavy areas violates the laws of war.

These shells are designed to release 116 burning felt wedges that can be detonated high in the air and drift over a radius of up to 250 meters, causing widespread fires on the ground.

In Yohmor, HRW geolocated eight images from March 2026 showing these munitions exploding over residential neighborhoods, directly resulting in fires in homes and vehicles.

SDSU Wired Its Dorms With 1,300 AI Cameras Without Telling Students

The students found out their dorms held more than 330 cameras from their own newspaper, not the school that installed them.

San Diego State University spent more than $1.3 million turning its campus into one of the most heavily watched in the California State University system and the students who study and live there learned the full scope from their own newspaper rather than from the administration.

University Police finished installing over 1,300 AI-enabled cameras in 2024, threading them through classroom buildings, bookstores, dining areas, parking structures, gyms and the residence halls where students sleep.

The picture only came together after investigative journalism students at The Daily Aztec pried the camera locations loose with a public records request .

Where the cameras went says a lot about who the system is built to watch. More than 330 of them point at student housing, close to 28 percent of the entire network.
