❗️Multi-front aggression on Gaza and Lebanon has left Israeli reserve forces on the brink of collapse warns army chief

The Israeli military establishment issued a dire warning to the Knesset on Monday, cautioning that its overstretched reserve forces are teetering on the edge of a total systemic breakdown. As first reported by i24 News, during a classified session of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir told lawmakers that the army's ability to sustain its multi-front aggression—stretching from Gaza to the northern borders with Lebanon—is rapidly eroding.

Zamir urged immediate legislative action to extend mandatory service to 36 months and expand conscription to include the ultra-Orthodox community, describing the current strain on reservists as an "unreasonable burden" that cannot be maintained.

The military's manpower crisis comes as Tel Aviv prepares for a potential expansion of its ground invasion into south Lebanon, despite mounting internal warnings about a "collapsing army." Zamir previously raised "ten red flags" regarding the military's internal stability, highlighting that the failure to regulate Haredi enlistment has left active-duty and reserve units physically and mentally depleted.

As the attacks on Gaza and Lebanon enter their third year, the military chief emphasized that without an immediate influx of thousands of new soldiers, the reserve system—historically the backbone of the Zionist entity's defense—will inevitably "collapse in on itself."

❗️Occupied Golan erupts as Druze residents torch wind farm equipment in revolt against Israeli ‘green colonialism’

Residents of the Israeli occupied Syrian Golan torched construction vehicles and drove workers off the site on Monday, 11 May, as protests erupted again against the controversial Aran Wind Farm project, a large-scale Israeli renewable energy development widely condemned by local Druze as an attempt to entrench the occupation under the guise of green infrastructure.

According to local and Israeli media reports, dozens of Druze residents intercepted engineering crews attempting to resume work on the project, overturning and setting fire to multiple vehicles and forcing contractors to flee agricultural lands near their villages. Energix Renewable Energies
said eight of its employees and foreign workers were injured in the clashes, with two reportedly requiring hospital treatment. The confrontation marked the most serious unrest since the mass protests of June 2023, when thousands mobilized against the turbines and clashed with Israeli police.

The Aran project, developed by Energix Renewable Energies consists of 32 wind turbines planned across the northern occupied Golan Heights at an estimated cost of roughly 700 million shekels. The company says the installation will generate electricity for around 50,000 households over two decades. Syrian Druze residents and rights advocates have denounced the initiative as “green colonialism,” arguing that the 220-meter turbines will disrupt apple and cherry orchards, damage bird migration routes, and further consolidate Israeli control over annexed Syrian land.

In a statement following the unrest, Energix Renewable Energies said “several dozen rioters” caused extensive damage to construction equipment and accused Israeli police of failing to secure the site. The company maintains that the wind farm is a nationally approved infrastructure project that occupies only a small portion of agricultural land and will benefit the region economically. Its opponents reject that argument, insisting the project represents the commodification of occupied land and natural resources without the consent of the indigenous Syrian population.

Anthropic is in talks over a further $30 billion funding round at a valuation of $950 billion. The AI firm is perhaps the fastest-growing company in history by valuation: It was founded just five years ago, and if the latest talks do not fall through, then it would have increased its valuation 2.5 times in just three months. Investors poured a record $300 billion into startups in the first quarter, close to 70% of all venture capital spending in 2025, with the latest bets heavily concentrated on Anthropic, OpenAI, Waymo, and xAI. Investors are also betting on AI uses beyond chatbots; the Alphabet-backed AI drug research firm Isomorphic raised $2.1 billion.

❗️After 13 hours of deliberation, British jury fails to convict activist for posts supporting Palestinian resistance

A Birmingham jury has failed to reach a verdict in the high-profile trial of Majid Freeman, an activist accused by the British state of supporting Hamas through his social media advocacy. After more than thirteen hours of deliberation, the court was forced to order a retrial as jurors could not agree that Freeman’s posts on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram constituted a criminal offense. The prosecution attempted to paint the thirty-eight-year-old as an effective propagandist for proscribed groups, but the defense successfully argued that his content was a legitimate expression of support for the right of an occupied people to resist genocide.

During the two-week trial, the Crown focused on Freeman’s use of specific symbols and his amplification of videos showing Israeli atrocities in Gaza, claiming these were tools used to humanize armed resistance. However, Freeman maintained that his posts were intended to raise awareness of the ongoing war crimes being committed against Palestinians rather than incite violence. He told the court that while he does not support any specific group, he believes every Palestinian has the inherent right to defend themselves against Israeli aggression through the use of force, a position grounded in the context of the broader liberation struggle.

Outside the court, Freeman welcomed the prospect of a 2027 retrial, noting that it provides another opportunity to place the evidence of Israeli war crimes before a jury of the British public. The activist, who was previously acquitted of charges related to the 2022 Leicester riots, slammed the state for exhausting massive resources to prosecute him over emojis and religious prayers.

❗️US intelligence finds Iran retains major missile power after US–Israel war

The New York Times
reported on 12 May that classified US intelligence assessments show Iran still retains substantial missile capacity, sharply contradicting Trump's claims that Tehran’s military was “shattered” by the US–Israel war.

The assessments say Iran has regained operational access to 30 of its 33 missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz, where its missiles could threaten US warships and oil tankers.

Iran also retains around 70 percent of its prewar missile stockpile and mobile launchers.

US intelligence also found that nearly 90 percent of Iran’s underground missile storage and launch facilities nationwide are now partially or fully operational.

The report says the US underestimated Iran’s ability to recover after strikes, partly because US forces often tried to seal bunker entrances rather than fully destroy underground missile facilities.

The findings create a major problem for Washington: if the ceasefire collapses, the US would face a still-capable Iranian missile force while its own stocks of Tomahawks, Patriot interceptors, and other key munitions have already been heavily depleted.

❗️Knesset advances bill to weaponize West Bank archaeology for de facto annexation

The Israeli Knesset moved one step closer to the formal annexation of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, passing the first reading of a bill that places Palestinian heritage and archaeological sites under direct Israeli control. This legislative maneuver aims to establish a new statutory body under the Heritage Ministry, granting it sweeping powers to excavate, manage, and expropriate land across the territory—including Areas A and B, which are under Palestinian civilian authority.

The bill’s progression follows a series of calculated administrative measures designed to dismantle Palestinian land rights and unseal ownership records for settler acquisition. Earlier this year, the Israeli Security Cabinet repealed long-standing restrictions on the sale of West Bank land to settlers, further entrenching the infrastructure of the occupation. Critics and international observers warn that this "heritage" law is a transparent attempt to bypass international law and the Oslo-era framework, using archaeology as a pretext to cleanse Palestinian identity from the land and create irreversible facts on the ground.

This escalation comes in direct defiance of the International Court of Justice, which in July 2024 declared Israel’s presence in the occupied territories unlawful and called for the immediate dismantling of the settlement regime. Despite the global consensus that these measures constitute war crimes and racial segregation, the coalition in Tel Aviv is doubling down on its expansionist agenda. By targeting cultural property and assets, Israel is not only violating the Fourth Geneva Convention but is also signaling its intent to maintain a permanent, illegal presence through systematic cultural appropriation and land theft.

VIDEO | Athens summit reveals Israel, Greece, and Cyprus planning to profit from Iran war

A private diplomatic conference held in Athens on 12 May has exposed the strategic ambitions of Israel, Greece, and Cyprus to capitalize on the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. The gathering featured high-level officials, including Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador to Greece, alongside Greek ministers of tourism and foreign affairs. According to reporting from Dimitri Lascaris—a Canadian human rights lawyer, award-winning journalist, and founder of the independent media outlet Reason2Resist—the summit focused on utilizing the regional instability to fast-track the India-West Asia-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) as an alternative to existing trade routes.

Evidence released by Lascaris highlights a startling consensus among the participants regarding the economic opportunities presented by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. One of the most controversial moments involved Averof Neofytou, a prominent Cypriot MP and former President of the Democratic Rally of Cyprus. In a video clip obtained from the session, Neofytou urged the Israeli Ambassador to "finish the job" in Iran, regardless of the consequences. "We must suffer the consequences" of the war, Neofytou reportedly stated, framing the current destruction as a necessary precursor to a new regional economic order dominated by the tripartite alliance.

Lascaris, who has spent the last year reporting from the front lines in Iran and Lebanon, noted that the speeches left no doubt about the "criminal" nature of the geopolitical maneuvering taking place behind closed doors. While much of the international community has focused on the humanitarian catastrophe, the Athens conference suggests that the junior partners in the US-led coalition are already partitioning the expected spoils of the war on Iran.

Whitney Webb has done the most extensive research into Palantir.

According to investigative journalist Whitney Webb, Palantir is "the new Jeffrey Epstein".

"If they want to blackmail you... they just access what Palantir sucked up about you—your search history, your communications, your finances, tweets you've liked in the past, all sorts of things."

"You don't really need Epstein in the surveillance era."

"The disturbing thing about Palantir is that it's really about pre-crime. They were the pioneers of predictive policing."

"Palantir is the resurrection of [a] DARPA program called Total Information Awareness—that was so scandalous when it was announced it was defunded by Congress."

"But then they realised that if they turned it into a private company, no one would complain."

"And that's how we got Palantir."

❗️Taybeh, the last fully Christian town in the occupied West Bank, faces collapse due to Israeli settler violence

Residents and clergy in Taybeh, the last remaining fully Christian town in the occupied West Bank, are warning that an intensified campaign of illegal Israeli settler violence is driving families to emigrate, Anadolu Agency reports. Surrounded by expanding outposts and Hilltop Youth settler groups, the ancient community faces a systemic squeeze of land seizures, economic sabotage, and physical assaults. Local leaders describe the escalation as a deliberate policy aimed at severing the Christian community from the Palestinian national struggle by framing the conflict as a religious war rather than a political occupation.

The Rev. Jack-Nobel Abed of the Greek Melkite Catholic Church noted that while the town remains "100 percent Christian," the pressure has reached a critical stage since the outbreak of the genocidal war on Gaza. Settlers, often operating under the protection of the Israeli military, have torched vehicles, stolen livestock, and blocked access to 5,000 dunams of vital olive groves. In a particularly alarming incident, residents were forced to extinguish a fire set by settlers at the historic Byzantine Church of St. George, an act seen as a direct assault on the town’s centuries-old identity.

Acting Mayor Khaldoun Hanna reported that at least 10 families have fled in the past two years alone due to the unbearable economic and psychological strain. With over 770,000 Israeli settlers now occupying the West Bank, the targeted harassment of Taybeh serves as a microcosm of a broader effort to empty rural Palestinian areas. Despite the mounting threats, the remaining 1,500 residents maintain that their mission is to stay and preserve their heritage against a settler project designed to erase them.

❗️US-backed Lebanese government files unprecedented UN complaint against Iran

In an unprecedented diplomatic move, the US-backed Lebanese government has filed a formal complaint with the United Nations accusing Iran of violating the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, interfering in Lebanon’s internal affairs, and undermining the country’s sovereignty.

The complaint, submitted by Lebanon’s ambassador to the UN, Ahmad Arafa, has been circulated as an official document of both the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly. It also disputes Iran’s account of the assassination of Iranian personnel in Beirut, alleging that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon was never informed of or consulted about their transfer to the Ramada Hotel in Raouche, and that some of those assassinated were not officially registered as diplomats.

Lebanon has accused Iranian institutions, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), of carrying out illegal activities in defiance of state decisions and of dragging the country into a devastating war against its will. According to the complaint, these actions led to thousands of deaths and injuries, the displacement of more than one million people, widespread destruction, the occupation of parts of Lebanese territory by Israel, and the establishment of security zones.

— You know, this is the funny thing about Israel.

They’re so giddy about actually being friends with an Arab nation for once, that they literally cannot shut the fuck up for 5 minutes about a top secret meeting between senior officials.

Publication of this meeting severely annoyed the UAE because it undermines its credibility in the Arab world even more, which actually hurts cooperation with Israel in the long run.

If Israel wants to keep countries like the UAE on their side, they have to get rid of this hubris and the need to constantly brag about how good their ties are. Because that position is indefensible to the domestic Arab audience, and the UAE knows it.

Chevron, Qatar's UCC Partner With Syria To Exploit Offshore Oil Block

Syria is open to foreign investment in the oil and gas sector following the rise of former Al-Qaeda chief Ahmad al-Sharaa to power in Damascus

Syria has identified an offshore site for its first deep-water oil and gas exploration project in partnership with US oil major Chevron ‌and Qatar’s UCC Holding, the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) announced on 11 May.

Identification of the offshore block will now pave the way for Chevron to finalize contracts with SPC and begin technical operations this summer.

Chevron signed a preliminary agreement in February with SPC ‌and UCC Holding to evaluate offshore oil and gas exploration in Syrian waters.

At the time, Youssef Kabalawi, the CEO of SPC, described the deal as “the most important” offshore energy exploration deal in Syria’s history.

Before the summer, God willing, we will start mobilization and drilling,” Kabalawi stated, while cautioning it could take up to four years to reach the gas reserves.
