US Oil Exports Hit Record High Amid Continued Closure Of Hormuz
Restoring Persian Gulf oil exports halted by the US-Israeli war on Iran may take years even if the strategic strait is opened soon
US crude exports are projected to hit a record high in April as Asian buyers seek to replace Persian Gulf oil supplies lost due to Washington and Israel's war on Iran, the Financial Times (FT) reported on 25 April.
US oil exports are expected to rise by roughly a third to 5.2 million barrels per day (bpd) this month, up from 3.9 million bpd in March, while demand from Asian buyers will rise by 82 percent to 2.5 million bpd, according to Oil research group Kpler.
Some 68 empty tankers are now en route to the US to be loaded with oil for export, Kpler reported, compared with just 24 in the week before the war began nearly two months ago.
“An armada of tankers is heading this way,” Kpler analyst Matt Smith said.
While US energy companies are benefitting from the war on Iran through increased exports, the demand for US oil from Asia will likely increase prices in the US, worsening inflation and gas prices, and making US consumers poorer.

Global Military Spending Hit All-Time Record In 2025: SIPRI
This represents the 11th straight year of rising global military expenditure, reaching its highest level since 2009
In 2025, governments worldwide allocated an all-time high of $2.887 trillion to military spending, according to the most recent report from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) published on 27 April.
The data shows a 2.9 percent annual increase, marking the 11th consecutive year of rising global military spending, with the global military burden reaching its highest level since 2009 at 2.5 percent of GDP.
SIPRI researcher Xiao Liang said the rise reflects how states responded to “another year of wars, uncertainty and geopolitical upheaval with large-scale armament drives.”
The US remained the largest military spender at $954 billion, despite a 7.5 percent decline compared to 2024, with SIPRI attributing the drop to the absence of new military aid for Ukraine after $127 billion had been approved over the previous three years.

Israeli forces have launched a massive arrest raid into the occupied West Bank’s Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem – detaining dozens of Palestinians on 27 April.
Another video has emerged of Israeli soldiers detaining a child. The incident occurred in the Old City of Nablus, a site of continued Israeli violence against Palestinians.
Israeli army forces raided Nablus city and the Qalandia refugee camp in the West Bank on Monday.
The raid began overnight on Sunday and extended into Monday. Israeli troops stormed several Palestinian homes, evicting over a dozen families and transforming an entire civilian area into a military interrogation zone.

Israeli forces have launched a massive arrest raid into the occupied West Bank’s Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem – detaining dozens of Palestinians on 27 April.
Another video has emerged of Israeli soldiers detaining a child. The incident occurred in the Old City of Nablus, a site of continued Israeli violence against Palestinians.
Israeli army forces raided Nablus city and the Qalandia refugee camp in the West Bank on Monday.
The raid began overnight on Sunday and extended into Monday. Israeli troops stormed several Palestinian homes, evicting over a dozen families and transforming an entire civilian area into a military interrogation zone.
Since the early morning hours, Israeli forces have been carrying out a large-scale detention campaign and raids in the towns of Al-Ram and Kafr Aqab, as well as Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The offensive involved dozens of home searches...
At least 35 Palestinians have been detained throughout the 15-hour raid, which remains ongoing, WAFA news agency reported on early Monday evening.

Speaking at a press conference in the coastal city of Herzliya, Bennett said that joining forces with Lapid was the "most Zionist and patriotic act we have ever done, for the sake of our country."

Bennett, who will head the ticket and be its candidate for prime minister, also invited Yashar party chairman and former army chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot to join them, stating that "our door is open for you too."

🔵 The facility in question belongs to the Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems. It was officially opened in late February 2026 in Mildenhall, Suffolk. Those who attended the ceremony included the Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, V. Zaluzhniy; the Ukrspecsystems UK Managing Director, R. Chamberlain; the UK Minister for Defence Procurement and Industry, L. Pollard; and S. Beel, the CEO of the British company Freeport East.
🔵 Freeport East is the project's principal investment partner, having committed $270 million to its implementation. The company also secured the production site. The facility employs approximately 500 people.
🔵 The plant's primary objective is to ensure a guaranteed supply of drones for Ukraine. Its products will be exported through the Port of Felixstowe, operated by Freeport East.
🔵 The facility manufactures several unmanned aerial systems, including the PD-2 (with a maximum range of 1,300 km and a maximum payload of 11 kg), the Shark-M, Shark-D, Mini-Shark reconnaissance drones, and the Octopus-100 interceptor drone.
