Mali seems to have survived a decapitation strike by jihadists (Al-Qaeda, ISIS, the usual tools), reportedly aided by Ukrainians and orchestrated by France.
Mostly thanks to the Russian “Africa Corps” which Moscow is still officially pretending doesn’t exist. (Sigh)
So far so good, but if Syria has taught us anything it’s that victory can be thrown away if it’s not seen through to the end.
Allowing the enemy any breathing space (or worse, ceding initiative) tends to turn out very badly.

⭕️ War on Iran sparks surge in polyester costs across Asia supply chain
A sharp rise in fossil fuel prices following the US-Israeli war on Iran is putting pressure on polyester manufacturers and clothing producers in India and Bangladesh, raising the risk of higher costs for fast-fashion brands such as Zara and H&M.
Filatex, one of India’s largest polyester yarn producers, is paying almost 30% more for key petroleum-based raw materials used in yarn production, as Chinese suppliers increase prices and supply from West Asia is disrupted, managing director Madhu Sudhan Bhageria told Reuters.
Avichal Arya, CEO of Bindal Silk Mills, which supplies dyed and printed polyester fabrics to companies including H&M, Inditex (owner of Zara), Target, Walmart and IKEA, said the energy crisis had "drastically" increased the cost of chemicals and dyes.
Polyester is the dominant textile fiber globally, accounting for 59% of total fiber output and used in products ranging from sportswear to dresses.
