There is a global concerted effort ongoing right now to erase anonymity online because the free internet puts power mongers at risk.
Without anonymity, governments can find dissenters and problems early and nip them in the bud.
Doxxing will become an even bigger problem than it already is.
It will make arrests and firings a walk in the park.
Anonymity allows whistleblowers to speak, allows dissidents to organize, and creates a true marketplace of ideas.
During the COVID era discussions in academia were shut down and moved online where professionals could discuss trends and data without risk of persecution or firing. In some cases in Europe and Australia, professionals faced legal ramifications for speaking up.
The rise of the dissident right in 2016 and its continuance has it's roots in online discussion. After years of manipulated Overton window shifts, the dissident right appeared to counter these shifts as well as a counter to the established right. These discussions were and sometimes still are dangerous to careers and entire livelihoods. Anonymity allows these discussions to be had.
Governments do not operate morally and will pretend this is all done to "protect the children" but in reality it's a power grab to stop dissent in the future.
There is AMPLE evidence of the US government and other governments doing this in the past.

NEW - USS Gerald R. Ford returns to the Middle East, along with 2 destroyers, USS Mahan and the USS Winston S. Churchill, joining USS Abraham Lincoln that is already operating in the north Arabian Sea. USS George HW Bush is also enroute, expected to arrive before end April.

My Representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan โ They will be there tomorrow evening, for Negotiations.
Iran recently announced that they were closing the Strait, which is strange, because our BLOCKADE has already closed it. They're helping us without knowing, and they are the ones that lose with the closed passage, $500 Million Dollars a day! The United States loses nothing. In fact, many Ships are headed, right now, to the U.S., Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska, to load up, compliments of the IRGC, always wanting to be "the tough guy!"
We're offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don't, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran. NO MORE MR. NICE GUY! They'll come down fast, they'll come down easy and, if they don't take the DEAL, it will be my Honor to do what has to be done, which should have been done to Iran, by other Presidents, for the last 47 years. Trump is too dumb to understand that EVEN IF Iran was inclined to make a deal on his terms (which it very much isnโt), these type of threats and posts ordering Iran to surrender will achieve the opposite of what he wants.
Do you really think Iran will now agree to anything he has proposed? That would be a total humiliation ritual and no serious diplomat would consider it any longer, even if it was hypothetically being considered.
In fact I wouldnโt be surprised if Iran considers these threats so insulting and a sign of bad intentions, that negotiations donโt even proceed.

โToday, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them.
The U.S. Navy Guided Missile Destroyer USS SPRUANCE intercepted the TOUSKA in the Gulf of Oman, and gave them fair warning to stop.
The Iranian crew refused to listen, so our Navy ship stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engineroom. Right now, U.S. Marines have custody of the vessel.
The TOUSKA is under U.S. Treasury Sanctions because of their prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what's on board!โ

Somaliaโs state minister for foreign affairs has condemned Israelโs recognition of a region within Somaliland, saying the move violates Somaliaโs sovereignty and risks deepening instability in a strategically sensitive region. The remarks were delivered on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as Mogadishu pressed its case against the development.
โThe actions of Israelis are trying to create more difficulty in a region that is already fragmented,โ he said, warning that further division could create a vacuum that may be exploited by Al-Shabaab and ISIS. He also warned that instability could endanger maritime navigation and commercial shipping, stressing that the global system cannot absorb another strategic choke point like the Strait of Hormuz.
Ali Mohammad Omar said the decision, which took place in late December, has driven Somalia to intensify diplomatic efforts to secure broader international backing. He added that Mogadishu has been engaging regional and global partners to build opposition to the move.
He also noted that several countries and international organizations, including Turkiye, have expressed support for Somaliaโs position, as the Horn of Africa continues to sit at the center of competing geopolitical interests.
