❗️Spain and China move to deepen ties amid ‘crumbling world order,’ defend multilateralism over return to ‘law of the jungle’

Xi Jinping and Pedro Sanchez pledged to deepen ties during talks in Beijing, with Xi warning that “chaos abounds” and the international order is “crumbling,” and urging both sides to uphold the rule of law and “jointly defend true multilateralism” against a return to the “law of the jungle,” according to Chinese state media.

Sanchez said international law is being repeatedly undermined and called for closer cooperation to promote peace and prosperity.

The visit, Sanchez’s fourth to China in four years, comes as western governments seek to maintain ties with Beijing despite ongoing tensions, while also expressing growing unease over US policies. Sanchez said it is “more necessary than ever” to strengthen ties between China and the European Union and called on China to play a larger role in global issues including climate, security, defense, and inequality.

Xi also described Spain as a key interlocutor between Beijing and the EU, praising Madrid’s approach and calling for stronger China–EU ties to support global stability, while both sides emphasized cooperation based on trust, dialogue, and a move toward a more multipolar international order.

❗️Handala hacker group claims deep penetration of Mossad and Shin Bet facilities as unprecedented footage surfaces of spy chiefs’ homes

The Iranian hacker group Handala has obtained and released aerial surveillance of sensitive Israeli sites, including what it describes as Mossad facilities, residences of air force pilots, and homes of senior intelligence officials. A public statement from the group claims the material was gathered over months through operations conducted with the assistance of local collaborators inside the occupied territories:

"The videos and images you are now seeing are aerial footage captured by Handala operatives of top-secret Mossad headquarters, the homes of Israeli Air Force pilots, residences of senior Iran Desk officials within Mossad, homes of Shin Bet counter-terrorism managers, as well as the travel routes and daily movements of senior Zionist security and military officials," the statement read.

According to Handala, the footage maps not only locations but also movement patterns and daily routes of senior military and security figures, presenting it as evidence of sustained intelligence access and operational reach. It frames the release as a glimpse into capabilities behind recent undisclosed actions, suggesting a broader campaign that has so far remained largely in the shadows.
Handala also used the moment to issue a direct appeal to residents facing economic hardship, urging them to make contact through encrypted channels and join its network.

❗️Iran oil sales strong despite war, plans to use revenue for reconstruction

Iran’s oil minister said on Tuesday that the country’s oil sales in recent weeks have been strong, with part of the revenue set to fund repairs to industrial damage caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran.

Mohsen Paknejad added that oil workers kept facilities operating throughout the war, ensuring exports continued “even for a single day,” including at major hubs such as Kharg Island.

The minister also noted last month that the selling price of Iranian crude had risen significantly.

❗️TRUMP CLAIMS war on Iran 'close to over' as US says Hormuz blockade has halted sea trade

US President Donald Trump told Fox News the war is “close to over,” hinting at a second round of face-to-face talks with Iran in Pakistan in the coming days.

The US military claims it has “completely halted economic trade going into and out of Iran by sea” as its blockade in the Strait of Hormuz continues.

Saudi Arabia Pushes US To End Hormuz Blockade Fearing Bab Al-Mandab Closure: Report

Saudi Arabia was forced to redirect its oil exports through Bab al-Mandab after the Strait of Hormuz was closed by Iran

Saudi Arabia is requesting that Washington end its newly announced blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations with Iran, fearing Tehran could escalate the war and disrupt Saudi oil exports through another strategic strait, Bab al-Mandab, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on 14 April, citing Arab officials.

The blockade of Hormuz announced by US President Donald Trump on Sunday, following the breakdown of talks with Iran in Pakistan the day before, is aimed at raising the pressure on Iran’s already weakened economy.

The Arab officials cited by WSJ warned that “Saudi Arabia has warned Iran might retaliate by closing the Bab al-Mandab – a Red Sea chokepoint crucial for the kingdom’s remaining oil exports.

After the US and Israel launched an unprovoked war on Iran on 28 February, traffic through the Strait of Hormuz came to an effective halt, amid threats from Iran to target “enemy-linked” vessels, and as western financial firms canceled maritime insurance for any ships wishing to pass through the strait.

As a result, Saudi officials were forced to halt oil exports through Hormuz and redirect their oil production through the East–West Pipeline, which terminates at the Yanbu port on the Red Sea near Bab al-Mandab.

❗️Italy suspends automatic renewal of defense deal with Israel as Meloni signals policy shift

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has announced the suspension of the automatic renewal of a defense agreement with Israel, marking a notable pause in military and technology cooperation between the two sides.

Speaking on the sidelines of an event in Verona, Meloni said the government had decided to halt the renewal of the pact, which covers the exchange of military equipment and joint research in defense technology, according to Italian news agency Ansa. The move places the future of the framework under review amid shifting political calculations in Rome.

The agreement had previously underpinned structured defense ties between Italy and Israel, but the suspension signals a recalibration of that relationship.

VIDEO | 'Israel is a new Third Reich and that’s how its flag should look'

On 14 April, Polish lawmaker Konrad Berkowicz displayed a flag that merged Israel's with a swastika during a session in parliament, while accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran.

Berkowicz, vice-chair of the far-right KORWiN party, used the parliamentary floor to describe Israel as “the new Third Reich,” citing reports including the use of white phosphorus munitions. The act drew immediate condemnation from Israel’s embassy in Warsaw, which called it an “antisemitic horror,” while Poland’s Foreign Ministry described it as deeply offensive to Holocaust memory, and parliamentary leadership demanded disciplinary measures.

Following the backlash, Berkowicz reiterated his accusations online and doubling down on his claims.
