❗️UNIFIL says Israeli projectile kills Indonesian peacekeeper in south Lebanon
The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said an Israeli projectile killed a peacekeeper at one of its positions near the southern Lebanese village of Adchit on Sunday. Another peacekeeper was critically injured, it said in a statement released early on Monday.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday that the deceased peacekeeper was an Indonesian national, and that three others were wounded by "indirect artillery fire" near the Indonesian UNIFIL contingent’s position close to the village.
"We do not know the origin of the projectile. We have launched an investigation to determine all of the circumstances."

After a month of relentless bombing, the US can only confirm that a third of Iran’s stockpile of ballistic missiles has been destroyed.
Five people familiar with intelligence assessments told Reuters that the US can only confirm with certainty that a third of Iranian missiles have been destroyed. Tehran’s ballistic missiles are the backbone of its defense strategy. Iran has claimed to possess tens of thousands of ballistic missiles produced and stored in elaborate tunnel networks.
The sources added that the US intelligence community believes another third of Iran’s ballistic missiles have been damaged or are inaccessible. Still, Tehran having access to a third of its missile arsenal gives Iran significant abilities to respond to US and Israeli attacks.
While Iran maintains the ability to fire offensive missiles, the US and Israel are running out of interceptors. The Royal United Services Institute for Defense estimated last week that Israel had fired 80% of its Arrow 2 and 3 interceptors, and the US had used 60% of its THAAD missiles.
A US Congress study warned , “There is concern that the rate of use of THAAD interceptors during Operation Epic Fury has further reduced the limited stock of interceptors.”
Iran has also destroyed about a dozen US radar systems in the Middle East, reducing the rate at which US and Israeli air defenses are able to down missiles.

Kosovo approved on Monday the deployment of troops to Gaza as part of an international security force under the International Stabilization Force.
Several countries, including Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, and Albania, have pledged forces to the International Stabilization Force under US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace.”
Kosovo’s government announced during a televised ministerial meeting on Monday that the defense ministry had agreed to send troops to Gaza after receiving an invitation from the US in December.
"We are ready to participate and help the people of Gaza, because we ourselves have been and are beneficiaries of international forces since 1999," Prime Minister Albin Kurti said during the session.
The government did not disclose how many troops it plans to deploy to Gaza.
Kosovo approved on Monday the deployment of troops to Gaza as part of an international security force under the International Stabilization Force.

The Pentagon is preparing for “weeks” of ground operations in Iran, The Washington Post has reported , citing unnamed US officials, as thousands more US troops have arrived in the Middle East in recent days.
Any potential US ground operations would mean a major escalation of the war and would likely result in significant US casualties as American forces would face significant Iranian missile and drone fire, and Iranian media is reporting that Iran is mobilizing one million soldiers to face any ground invasion.
The Post report said that any US ground operations would stop short of a full-scale invasion, which would require hundreds of thousands of troops, but could involve raids that involve a mix of special operations forces and conventional ground troops that would target Iranian islands or strategic areas along the coast.
Sources told the Post that the options on the table include seizing Kharg Island, a major export hub for Iran’s oil that’s located deep inside the Persian Gulf, or raids in other coastal areas near the Strait of Hormuz to destroy weapons that can target shipping. Other reports have said the US is considering a special operations raid to capture Iran’s stockpile of uranium that’s enriched to 60%, though it’s believed to be buried under rubble following the June 2025 US airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
One official speaking to the Post said the objectives could take “weeks, not months,” to achieve, while another source put the potential timeline at a “couple of months.” But all signs indicate that if the US escalates the war to include ground operations, the conflict could become open-ended and last many months or even years.

Iran's armed forces have reinforced the defenses of the island through which 90 percent of Tehran's oil exports flow
US President Donald Trump threatened on 30 March to invade Iran's Kharg Island and take control of the Islamic Republic's oil exports.
“To be honest with you, my favorite thing is to take the oil in Iran, but some stupid people back in the US say: ‘Why are you doing that?’ But they are stupid people,” Trump told the Financial Times (FT) in an interview on Sunday.
“Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we do not. We have a lot of options,” Trump added, noting if US forces take the island, they would have to “be there for a while.”
Kharg Island provides a seaport for the export of up to 90 percent of Iran's oil products and supplies storage for up to 30 million barrels of oil.
The island lies close to several offshore oil fields, including the Faridun, Darius, Cyrus, and Ardasir fields.
Trump explained he wants the US to take control of Iran's oil industry and exports indefinitely, as it did in Venezuela in January when US special forces raided Caracas and kidnapped President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
Revenue from Venezuelan exports is now placed in a bank account in Qatar overseen by US officials.
Trump's comments come as the US military has accelerated the deployment of thousands of Marines and Navy personnel to West Asia.

The FTC just told the four companies that move America's money to stop picking sides, without actually doing anything about it yet.
Four companies that collectively control how most Americans buy and sell things received warning letters this week from FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, threatening enforcement action if they deny customers access to financial services based on political or religious beliefs. The targets are Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Stripe.
As an example, we obtained a copy of the letter sent to Visa for you here .
The letters didn’t name a single specific violation, and they didn’t need to. The track record is already public. PayPal has frozen accounts of several political commentators.
Stripe cut off payment processing for President Trump’s campaign website after January 6, 2021. Both companies have spent years making unilateral decisions about who deserves access to the financial system, hiding behind vague terms of service that give compliance teams almost unlimited discretion.
“Full participation in commerce and public life necessarily requires that law-abiding individuals can access, and freely participate in, our financial system,” Chairman Ferguson wrote.
“It is inconsistent with American values to deny law-abiding individuals the ability to run their legitimate businesses and feed their families because they attracted the ire of rogue American officials, overzealous activists, or, more worryingly, foreign governments seeking to control public discourse,” he continued.
“That is why President Trump’s August 7, 2025, Executive Order on debanking makes clear that it is unacceptable to debank law-abiding citizens due to ‘political affiliations, religious beliefs, or lawful business activities.’”

Palestinian Christians suffer regular persecution from Israel's ultra-Orthodox and religious nationalist Jews
The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem was prevented from holding Palm Sunday mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre "for the first time in centuries" on 29 March, after Israeli police blocked him and others from entering the church.
Citing security concerns over the Iran war as a pretext, Israeli police stopped Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Friar Francesco Ielpo while walking to the church, which was built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the dead nearly two thousand years ago.
"As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre," the Latin Patriarchate said in a statement.
"This incident is a grave precedent, and disregards the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem," the statement added.
Police said they had rejected a request from the Patriarchate for a Palm Sunday exemption, claiming that rescue vehicles could not access the site in the case of a mass casualty incident resulting from the war with Iran.

Palestinian Christians suffer regular persecution from Israel's ultra-Orthodox and religious nationalist Jews
The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem was prevented from holding Palm Sunday mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre "for the first time in centuries" on 29 March, after Israeli police blocked him and others from entering the church.
Citing security concerns over the Iran war as a pretext, Israeli police stopped Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Friar Francesco Ielpo while walking to the church, which was built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the dead nearly two thousand years ago.
"As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre," the Latin Patriarchate said in a statement.
"This incident is a grave precedent, and disregards the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem," the statement added.
Police said they had rejected a request from the Patriarchate for a Palm Sunday exemption, claiming that rescue vehicles could not access the site in the case of a mass casualty incident resulting from the war with Iran.
Farid Jubran, a spokesperson for the Patriarchate, told Reuters that police had been informed that the mass would be held privately and behind closed doors...
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates the day Christians believe Jesus entered Jerusalem, welcomed by his followers who placed palm leaves in his path as he rode into the city on a donkey. Easter is celebrated a week later, to mark Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection...

Under Israeli rule, Christians in the 1948 territories and the occupied West Bank suffer regular persecution, including spitting on clergy, physical harassment, and the vandalism and destruction of churches, cemeteries, and other Christian symbols.
The harassment is carried out by ultra-Orthodox Jews and Jewish religious nationalists and goes largely unchecked by Israeli police.

“The brutal aggression by the Zionist regime against the desalination facility in Kuwait, carried out in recent hours under the pretext of accusing the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a sign of the vileness and depravity of the Zionist occupiers,” the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian army said in a statement.
“We declare that US bases, personnel, and their interests in the region, as well as the military, security, and economic infrastructure of the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories, remain powerful targets for us,” it added.
The Iranian military went on to urge “countries of West Asia must remain vigilant against the sedition of the US–Zionist axis aimed at destabilizing and destroying the region.”
Regional states “must put an end to the presence of the criminal US army and occupying Zionists in the region,” it stressed.
The attack on the desalination plant took place on Sunday.
“A service building at a power and water desalination plant was attacked as part of the Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, resulting in the death of an Indian worker and significant material damage to the building,” said a spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Electricity Ministry.
This is not the first attack Tehran has labeled a false flag.
Iran has also denied recent strikes on fuel tankers in Oman and a refinery in Iraq’s Erbil, as well as one that targeted an Aramco facility in Saudi Arabia at the start of the month.
US journalist Tucker Carlson reported earlier in March that Mossad agents were detained in Gulf states for planning bombings.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on 15 March that the US has been using its new Lucas drone – modeled after the Iranian Shahed – to carry out false-flag attacks in the region and attribute them to the Islamic Republic.
Tehran has said only US and Israeli-linked military and economic assets in the Gulf will be struck by its forces.
Iran is warning Gulf governments against allowing Washington to use their bases for attacks on the Islamic Republic.

Spain Closes Airspace To US Planes Involved In Iran Attacks
Madrid maintains that the US-Israeli war on Iran is ‘illegal’ and refuses to support offensive operations
Spain has barred US-linked warplanes involved in strikes on Iran from using its airspace and bases for combat operations, while allowing logistical support under existing agreements, El Pais reported on 30 March, citing government officials.
“We have denied the United States the use of the Rota and Moron bases for this illegal war. All flight plans involving operations in Iran have been rejected. All of them, including those for refueling aircraft,” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said in a statement to Congress.
He confirmed that Spain has denied permission for bombers and tanker aircraft linked to Operation Epic Fury to enter or pass through its airspace, effectively blocking them from using Spanish skies to strike Iran.
Military sources added that the restriction also applies to US aircraft based in third countries, including the UK and France, if their flight paths cross Spain.
An exception remains for emergencies, allowing aircraft to transit or land, but not to carry out operations against Iran.

Leaders order IDF to cause economic damage to Iranian regime, after nearly finishing bombing all military targets outlined at start of campaign
A month into the war with Iran, the Israeli military has almost completed bombing all of the targets it defined for itself at the start of the conflict, and has now been ordered by Israel’s political leadership to shift to hitting “economic” targets of the Iranian regime, The Times of Israel learned on Monday.
Israel’s defense establishment is now in what it described as the “completion phase” of the goals it set out at the start of the war, meaning it believes it has largely achieved its objectives of degrading Iran’s military capabilities and “creating the conditions” for the Iranian regime to fall, The Times of Israel has learned.
The Times of Israel has learned that the defense establishment believes that the Iranian weapon production capabilities have been severely degraded, setting Iran back years. The goal of “creating the conditions” for the Iranian regime to topple has also been achieved “above and beyond,” according to the defense establishment, although it still remains unclear when, or if, the Iranian population will rise up against its oppressive government.
As the IDF has almost completed bombing all of Iran’s weapon production sites, Israeli leaders, including Defense Minister Israel Katz, have ordered the military to carry out strikes on targets that cause economic blows to the Iranian regime.
This included a strike on major Iranian gas infrastructure in the country’s south nearly two weeks ago, and strikes on two of Iran’s largest steel factories on Friday. In both cases, Israel aimed to cause massive economic damage to the Iranian regime, according to security sources.
The evidence supporting the IDF's claims about the destruction of Iran's missile production capabilities "setting it back years" isn't supported. Iran has underground factories that are unreachable by even the most advance bunker busting bombs. Israel is bombing Iran's business and industrial sector because they can't destroy Iranian missile bases nor the launchers nor the factories. They have no other option and this carries the risk of seeing Israel's economy being destroyed in the process.
