He was eventually caught with an explosive device hidden on a motorcycle intended for later use in southern Beirut.

Over 3 Million People Forcibly Displaced By US-Israeli War On Iran: UN

In Lebanon, Israeli attacks have displaced a staggering 14 percent of the population

Over 3 million Iranians have been displaced by the ongoing US-Israeli war against the Islamic Republic, the Director of the Division of Emergency and Programme Support at UNHCR, Ayaki Ito, revealed on 12 March.

“Between 600,000 and 1 million Iranian households are now temporarily displaced inside Iran as a result of the ongoing conflict, according to preliminary assessments, representing up to 3.2 million people,” Ito wrote in the statement.

In every emergency and conflict, we work with governments and partners to monitor and gather displacement figures.

Figures of displacement within Iran are estimates based on data provided by authorities. UNHCR is not able to verify these.

He added that most of the internally displaced are fleeing Tehran and other major urban areas, and that the number of forcibly displaced “is likely to continue rising as hostilities persist, marking a worrying escalation in humanitarian needs.”

The statement added that refugee families hosted in the country, the majority of whom are Afghan, are particularly vulnerable due to their already “precarious situation” and “limited support networks,” with many now leaving affected areas as insecurity rises and access to essential services declines.

Tennessee Grandmother Jailed After AI Facial Recognition Error Links Her To Fraud

Angela Lipps spent nearly six months in jail after AI software linked her to a North Dakota bank fraud case

A Tennessee grandmother says she is trying to rebuild her life after an incident of mistaken identity by an artificial intelligence (AI) facial recognition system tied her to a North Dakota bank fraud investigation.

Angela Lipps, 50, spent nearly six months in jail after Fargo police identified her as a suspect in an organized bank fraud case using facial recognition software, according to south-east North Dakota news outlet InForum . Lipps told the outlet she had never been to North Dakota and did not commit the crimes.

Lipps, a mother of three and grandmother of five, said she has lived most of her life in north-central Tennessee. She had never been on an airplane until authorities flew her to North Dakota last year to face charges.

In July, US marshals arrested Lipps at her Tennessee home while she was babysitting four children. She said she was taken away at gunpoint and booked into a county jail as a fugitive from justice from North Dakota.

“I’ve never been to North Dakota, I don’t know anyone from North Dakota,” Lipps told WDAY News .

US-Israeli War On Iran Seeks To 'Reshape West Asia, Block Creation Of Palestinian State': Omani FM

Oman’s foreign minister has previously said that Israel is the 'prime source of insecurity' in the region, 'not Iran'

Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidy said on 12 March that the US-Israeli war being waged against the Islamic Republic of Iran aims to “reshape the region” and advance normalization with Tel Aviv.

“The goal is not limited to the nuclear issue. It also aims to weaken Iran, reshape the region, advance the normalization agenda, prevent the creation of a Palestinian state and weaken those who support that project,” Al-Busaidy said.

“Many regional parties are aware of this, but they are betting that aligning with the US may lead Washington to reconsider some of its decisions and policies,” he added.

The Omani Foreign Minister also said Washington will not be able to achieve concessions from Iran through waging war.

Al-Busaidy said that the war could end soon, but that countries should prepare themselves for the “worst possibilities.”
