President Donald Trump said Wednesday the U.S. will release crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, its boldest attempt yet to bring down oil prices that have spiked since the U.S. launched its war against Iran.
“We’ll do that, and then we’ll fill it up,” Trump told Cincinnati news station Local 12 in an interview Wednesday afternoon. “I filled it up once, and I’ll fill it up again. But right now, we’ll reduce it a little bit, and that brings the prices down.”
Trump did not specify how much oil his administration would release or the timing of the move. It comes after the International Energy Agency announced earlier Wednesday it would coordinate the largest release of reserves in the body’s history, consisting of 400 million barrels of oil, from its 32 members, which include the U.S., Japan, Germany, the U.K. and France.

'No To War': Spanish PM Fires Back At Trump Over Threats To Cut Trade
Trump threatened to ‘cut all dealings’ with Madrid, and said ‘Spain has been terrible’ for refusing US requests to use joint bases for attacks on Iran
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez responded on 4 March to US President Donald Trump’s threat to cut trade with Madrid, doubling down on his country’s refusal to participate in the war on Iran.
Spain will “not be complicit in something that is bad for the world – and that is also contrary to our values and interests – simply out of fear of reprisals from someone,” Sanchez said in a speech on Wednesday. “You can’t respond to one illegality with another because that’s how humanity’s great disasters begin.”
“You can’t play Russian roulette with the destiny of millions … Nobody knows for sure what will happen now. Even the objectives of those who launched the first attack are unclear. But we must be prepared, as the proponents say, for the possibility that this will be a long war, with numerous casualties and, therefore, with serious economic consequences on a global scale,” he added.
Sanchez said his country’s position could be described in three words: “No to war.”
He also referred back to the US war on Iraq, saying that the war aimed “to eliminate Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction, to bring democracy, and to guarantee global security,” but “unleashed the greatest wave of insecurity our continent has suffered since the fall of the Berlin Wall.”

Civilian homes. Residential buildings.
No justification. Just pure terror.

Nations Worldwide Move To Conserve Fuel As Strait Of Hormuz Closure Threatens Global Economy
The crisis provoked by the US and Israel's war on Iran is felt more sharply in Asia, where nations rely on the Strait of Hormuz for over 80 percent of their oil
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on 9 March sweeping austerity measures to curb domestic fuel consumption after oil prices briefly reached $120 a barrel due to the disruptions caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran.
“The entire region is currently in a state of war. Keeping this reality in mind, the government took difficult decisions for the country's economy,” Sharif said in his address.
He said oil prices were already above $100 a barrel and could rise further, forcing Islamabad to conserve reserves and take quick measures to reduce the need for fuel consumption across the country.
Measures in the public sector include a four-day workweek for government offices, and rotating work-from-home arrangements for half of the public staff.
The measures also involved two weeks of school closures, online classes for higher education, cuts to official fuel use, salary reductions for ministers and lawmakers, and restrictions on foreign travel and in-person government meetings.
