Palestinian prisoners' organizations say more than 9,000 remain in captivity under what one official described as “unimaginable conditions” in an interview with Al Jazeera on 14 October, despite the recent release of nearly 2,000 Palestinians as part of an exchange deal with Israel.
According to the Palestine Center for Prisoners’ Studies, at least 3,500 Palestinians are held under Israel’s so-called administrative detention, allowing imprisonment without charge or trial for an indefinite time.
Hundreds more seized from Gaza are detained under the “Unlawful Combatant” law, also without charge, among them 52 women, about 400 minors, and dozens of medical workers, journalists, and civilians accused of “incitement.”
Before the genocide began, Israeli jails held roughly 5,000 Palestinians.
That figure more than doubled to over 11,000 by October 2025, dropping to around 9,000 after the latest exchange deal as part of the latest ceasefire.

❗️At least 36 Israeli violations of Gaza ceasefire documented
The Gaza Center for Human Rights reported that the Israeli military committed 36 violations of the ceasefire since it took effect on 10 October, resulting in the killing of at least seven Palestinian civilians and the injury of others.
The violations included aerial and artillery bombardments as well as live fire, concentrated in the eastern and northern areas of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli drones targeted residents inspecting their homes in the Shujaiya neighborhood, killing five people, while additional strikes in Khan Yunis, Jabalia, and Rafah caused further casualties.
The center stressed that these attacks were carried out without any military justification, aiming to maintain an atmosphere of fear and terror in the Strip. It also noted Israel’s continued control over aid entry, allowing only 173 aid trucks in out of 1,800 expected in recent days. The organization warned that restricting essential supplies constitutes an extension of genocidal policies through starvation, in violation of international humanitarian law, and called on the international community to pressure Israel to fully implement the ceasefire and investigate war crimes and acts of genocide.

Chief of security at the Nova music festival... told Hebrew outlet Channel 14 that he received a warning about the Hamas operation a week ahead of the attacks.
Elkana Federman told Channel 14 that authorities ignored him when he relayed the warning.
“I had a guard at the festival who had served in the Re’im Division [near Gaza border], and a week before the festival he sent me a voice message … basically warning me, saying, ‘Elkana, something is going to happen over Sukkot (Jewish holiday). I just wanted to let you know, there are a lot of warnings,’” Federman said.
“I passed the voice message on, and they told me everything was all right, that the army would be able to handle whatever needed to be handled and that there were always alerts and that everything was fine...,” he added.
After 7 October, Federman was in the hospital and called the man who had given him the warning.
“I told him 'I wanted to talk to you about that recording you sent me a week before the festival; you were speaking in codes. Tell me exactly what they said to you. He told me, 'Elkana, they told me there was going to be an invasion, and that they were planning to take over towns. I just wasn't allowed to tell you that,'” Federman told the Hebrew outlet.

Israeli military censorship has prevented the release of information on the several sensitive sites struck by Iran during the 12-day war
Iran struck a tower in central Tel Aviv during the 12-day war in June that sat directly above a sensitive, underground Israeli intelligence base.
The underground bunker is jointly administered by the US and Israeli militaries and is referred to as Site 81, according to leaked emails, public documents, and Hebrew reports cited by the Gray Zone on 13 October.
The outlet has geolocated the site, which sits right under the Da Vinci apartment complex that was struck by Iranian ballistic missiles on 13 June.
It also cites an image from a 2013 US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) study revealing a “basement test site” for the construction of the underground site. The image was also geolocated to the area of the Da Vinci apartment complex.
In late June, a resident of the area told Israeli newspaper Haaretz that the apartment towers surrounding Israel’s Kyria (defense headquarters) and other sensitive sites in Tel Aviv were built to “protect” military installations, essentially serving as shields.

Israeli military censorship has prevented the release of information on the several sensitive sites struck by Iran during the 12-day war
Iran struck a tower in central Tel Aviv during the 12-day war in June that sat directly above a sensitive, underground Israeli intelligence base.
The underground bunker is jointly administered by the US and Israeli militaries and is referred to as Site 81, according to leaked emails, public documents, and Hebrew reports cited by the Gray Zone on 13 October.
The outlet has geolocated the site, which sits right under the Da Vinci apartment complex that was struck by Iranian ballistic missiles on 13 June.
It also cites an image from a 2013 US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) study revealing a “basement test site” for the construction of the underground site. The image was also geolocated to the area of the Da Vinci apartment complex.
In late June, a resident of the area told Israeli newspaper Haaretz that the apartment towers surrounding Israel’s Kyria (defense headquarters) and other sensitive sites in Tel Aviv were built to “protect” military installations, essentially serving as shields.
