Newsweek: "Pilot Reports Mysterious Triangle UFO Fly Past Him in Audio Recording"
A flight recording apparently capturing a pilot reporting a UFO to air-traffic controllers has captured the public's imagination after it was shared on an aviation social-media channel.
The audio clip was published on a YouTube account called You Can See ATC, which uploads videos featuring pilots' accounts of emergencies or unusual situations during flights, such as equipment failures or fights on board. Most of the channel's viewers seem to be those working in the industry.

'We Want Normalization With Israel After Gaza War:' Saudi Official - Last Week
Despite renewed interest from kingdom officials to 'revive' a US-sponsored normalization deal, polls show that over 90 percent of Saudi citizens believe all Arab states should sever ties with Israel
The Saudi Ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud, told the BBC on 9 January that Saudi Arabia wants to continue normalization plans with Israel after their brutal aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza ends.
“Saudi Arabia wants to normalize its relations with Israel after the war in Gaza,” the Saudi ambassador told the British public service broadcaster, noting that “the two countries were about to reach an agreement before the 7 October war.”
Bandar made sure to note that normalization with Israel will only be possible if Palestine is granted its own state.
“Saudi Arabia still believes in establishing relations with Israel despite the unfortunate figures of the dead in Gaza,” he added, continuing: “But this cannot be at the expense of the Palestinian people, and it requires thinking about the issue of integrating Hamas into the future Palestinian state.”
The death toll in Gaza from Israeli aggressions is at least 23,210, with at least 59,167 Palestinians who have been wounded.
Israeli media has reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is holding “secret talks” with the White House regarding the resumption of normalization discussions with Saudi Arabia.

FBI Director Says Public-Private Sector Partnerships Are Important for Guarding Against “Misinformation” - Earlier This Week
During an interview with CNBC, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray lauded his agency’s partnerships with the private sector to target “misinformation” and “disinformation,” despite growing scrutiny over the way these types of partnerships have been used to censor the speech of Americans.
Wray complained that social media has escalated misinformation and disinformation and that AI is “taking it to the next level.” He then lauded private sector partnerships as a way to defend against the proliferation of AI misinformation and disinformation.
“I come back to the importance of partnerships to guard against it,” Wray said. “Not just our partnerships, but there’s an important role for the private sector. For example, AI companies, which many of which are very actively engaged in this fight to help detect deepfakes. You know, in some ways, AI is quite good at detecting AI, and so seeing the private sector invest its own time and money into trying to help detect some of the things that you’re describing I think is an important piece of it. Obviously, government partners, research community, etc., is another piece of it.”
After praising these private sector partnerships that target misinformation and disinformation, Wray attempted to downplay censorship concerns and insisted that these efforts only target foreign actors.
“To be clear, our role at the FBI is focused on the role of the foreign actors, as in the source of the information, not the content,” Wray said. “We’re not the truth police. We don’t aspire to be.”
While Wray asserted that these efforts target foreign actors, lawmakers have previously challenged this assertion and pointed to a federal court ruling that stated the FBI had flagged domestic speech as potential misinformation. This federal court ruling is part of a legal case that’s headed to the Supreme Court and alleges several federal agencies, including the FBI, violated the First Amendment by pressuring Big Tech companies to censor the speech of Americans.

Biden's Patience with Netanyahu 'Running Out'
The Israeli prime minister is able to ignore the US president's requests, despite being highly dependent on US funding, weapons, and diplomatic cover to wage a genocidal war in Gaza
President Biden and other senior US officials are "running out" of patience with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who continues to ignore US requests regarding the ongoing war in Gaza, Axios reported on 15 January.
"The situation sucks and we are stuck. The president's patience is running out," one US official told Axios.
"At every juncture, Netanyahu has given Biden the finger," US Senator Chris Van Hollen, who has been in close contact with US officials about the war, told Axios. "They are pleading with the Netanyahu coalition, but getting slapped in the face over and over again."
Since the beginning of Israel's war on Gaza over 100 days ago, President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have given Israel unlimited support in the form of weapons and diplomatic cover despite clear evidence Israel is engaging in genocide.
But according to four US officials with direct knowledge of the issue, US officials are increasingly upset that Netanyahu has ignored requests to transfer tax revenue to the Palestinian Authority (PA), allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, scale back military operations to stop killing so many Palestinian civilians, and allow the PA to govern Gaza following the end of the war.
According to Axios, Biden and Netanyahu have not spoken in almost a month, after previously speaking several times a week. During their last conversation on 23 December, Netanyahu refused a request to transfer PA tax revenue. In response, Biden said, "This conversation is over," and hung up the phone.
For now, Netanyahu appears "more willing to listen" to the ultranationalist ministers in his government — namely Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich — than to "what the president of the United States says," Senato Van Hollen told Axios.
Despite being highly dependent on US weapons and funding to wage war on Gaza, Israeli leaders rarely take US requests into consideration. Crop-killing weeds such as kochia are advancing across the U.S. northern plains and Midwest, in the latest sign that weeds are developing resistance to chemicals faster than companies including Bayer (BAYGn.DE), opens new tab and Corteva (CTVA.N), opens new tab can develop new ones to fight them.
In many cases weeds are developing resistance against multiple herbicides, scientists said.
Reuters interviewed two dozen farmers, scientists, weed specialists and company executives and reviewed eight academic papers published since 2021 which described how kochia, waterhemp, giant ragweed and other weeds are squeezing out crops in North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota as chemicals lose their effectiveness.
..."We're in for big problems over the next 10 years for sure," said Ian Heap, director of the International Survey of Herbicide Resistant Weeds, a group of scientists in over 80 countries that maintains a global database. "We are in for a real shake-up."
The database records reduced effectiveness for glyphosate, one of the most common herbicides, against 361 weed species, including 180 in the U.S., affecting corn, soy, sugar beets and other crops.
