“Your account was permanently banned due to multiple violations of our community guidelines,” the notice from TikTok said, giving little detail about why.

“I inherited the Oslo Accords,” he says. “The decision to bring the PLO from Tunis, and plant it in the heart of Judea and Samaria [West Bank], and in Gaza, was a decision made and implemented before I became prime minister. I thought it was a terrible mistake and I still do.”
Turning on the reporter, he says: “You and your journalist friends have been blaming me for almost 30 years for putting the brakes on the Oslo Accords, and preventing the Palestinian state. That’s true,” he says.
“I’m proud that I prevented the establishment of a Palestinian state because today everybody understands what that Palestine state could have been, now that we’ve seen the little Palestinian state in Gaza. Everyone understands what would have happened if we had capitulated to international pressures and enabled a state like that in Judea and Samaria, surrounding Jerusalem and on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.”

Footage shows soldiers in besieged enclave stealing makeup and necklaces, setting fire to food supplies and installing Jewish symbols in Palestinian neighbourhoods
Since Israel launched a ground operation in Gaza in late October, footage has emerged of troops carrying out violent and provocative acts that appear to have little to do with furthering their stated aim of destroying Hamas.
This has included theft, destruction of businesses and properties, vandalism, and the installation of Israeli and Jewish symbols across Gaza’s neighbourhoods.
Such behaviour has been blamed on indiscipline, but analysts believe it is also a form of “psychological warfare”.
In one example of theft, a soldier bragged about stealing a silver necklace from Gaza to take back to his girlfriend in Israel. Another troop stole a rug from a Palestinian home.
In a post shared on a popular Facebook group, an Israeli officer gloated about seizing a host of sealed makeup items to take to Israel as “gifts from Gaza”.

U.S. Says Its Destroyer Shot Down 14 Drones In Red Sea Launched From Yemen, US Weighs Strike Options To Deter Houthis From More Red Sea Attacks
An American destroyer on Saturday shot down more than a dozen drones in the Red Sea launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, the U.S. Central Command said.
"The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS CARNEY... operating in the Red Sea, successfully engaged 14 unmanned aerial systems launched as a drone wave from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen," CENTCOM said social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The aerial vehicles were "assessed to be one-way attack drones and were shot down with no damage to ships in the area or reported injuries," according to the statement.
Top Biden administration officials are actively weighing options to strike back at Houthis in Yemen after the Iran-backed group launched new attacks on naval and commercial ships in the Red Sea on Saturday, according to two U.S. officials.
The Pentagon has in recent days moved the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group from the Persian Gulf into the Gulf of Aden, off the coast of Yemen, to support a potential U.S. response to attacks, said one of the officials, both of whom were granted anonymity to speak about sensitive plans. The military has also provided options to commanders to strike the Houthis, the official said.

Israel stepped up its bombardment of Gaza overnight and into Sunday, killing at least 40 people, Palestinians said, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued that the only way to secure the release of hostages was intense military pressure on Hamas.
The Israeli attacks took place amid fierce fighting the length of the coastal enclave, according to residents and militants, with communications down for a fourth day, making it hard to reach the wounded.
"The communication blackout in #Gaza is the longest since the start of the Israeli escalation," the Palestinian Red Crescent said on X, adding that its teams were also hampered by shelling.
Israel's spy chief held talks on Friday with the prime minister of Qatar, which mediated earlier hostage releases in return for a week-long ceasefire and the freeing of Palestinian prisoners, a source with knowledge of the matter said.

US Summons Australia to the Middle East, as Congress Approves AUKUS Bill
US Congress passed the National Defence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, which authorises the transfer of three US Virginia class nuclear-powered submarines to Australia that, in turn, will serve to strengthen US posture in the Indo Pacific region.
The bill also facilitates Australia in the provision of maintenance to US submarines docked here, which, along with nuclear-propelled subs from the UK, will form “a rotational presence from as early as 2027 under Submarine Rotational Force West (SRF-West)”.
With the passing of this bill, it’s hard to see how our nation won’t unquestionably throw itself into a US-led war on China. In fact, the legislation also provides for the US to train Taiwan’s military forces, with Beijing’s claims over that self-governing island being the chief reason to enter into a conflict.
And in a sign that Washington too considers Australia to be the lucky country, the new law has established “a mechanism for the US to accept funds from Australia to lift the capacity of the submarine industrial base” to the tune of $3 billion, which will evidently hurry up the process.
The passing of the bill might also heighten the pressure that Washington began placing on Canberra the day prior to its passage, as the US then called upon Australia to send a warship over to the Middle Eastern Red Sea in response to Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacking trading vessels.
And the fact that Uncle Sam is now calling on its Indo Pacific deputy to join its ranks in a military sideshow developing in relation to Israel’s wholesale massacre upon the Palestinians of Gaza, straight after the Albanese government voted in favour of a ceasefire in the UN, is lost upon no one.

Israeli forces accused of crushing Palestinians using bulldozers in the courtyard of Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital.
Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila has called for an “urgent probe” after Israeli forces were accused of crushing Palestinians, including wounded patients, using bulldozers in the yard of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
On Saturday, doctors and other witnesses said Israeli forces bulldozed tents housing displaced Palestinians near the hospital – one of the 11 hospitals still functioning inside Gaza since Israel launched its military offensive on October 7 – and crushed them to death.

Heavy fighting reported in Wad Madani, where thousands of displaced people had sought shelter.
Thousands of displaced people have fled the formerly safe city of Wad Madani in Sudan, as the war between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) reaches the city.
Paramilitary forces established a base in the east of Sudan’s second-largest city and the capital of al-Jazirah state, the AFP news agency reported on Sunday, forcing thousands of already displaced people to escape.

More companies are tapping blockchain-based private credit as they hunt for financing in a world of elevated interest rates, sparking a partial revival in a sector that slumped amid last year’s crypto crisis.
- Loans via blockchains are reviving from a deep slump last year
- Supporters claim digital ledgers are transparent and efficient
Active private loans via digital ledgers are up 55% since the start of 2023 to about $408 million as of Nov. 28, according to RWA.xyz, a platform that tracks the debt. That’s still lower than a near $1.5 billion peak last June — and a fraction of the booming $1.6 trillion traditional market for private credit.

Mysterious Signals From Space Are Getting Stranger, Scientists Say
Ever since the first fast radio burst was discovered in 2007, scientists have been racing to understand the unusual flashes of radio waves emanating from extremely distant locations.
Some FRBs emit as much energy in a fraction of a second as the Sun does in a few days. One signal that astonished astronomers earlier this year had been pulsing every 20 minutes since at least 1988.
And while scientists can still only hazard a guess as to what's behind them, the latest fast radio burst that was just discovered is only adding to the mystery — and highlighting just how much we still have to learn about the celestial phenomenon.
Some FRBs repeat themselves, and a new study published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society has shed new light. The study has detected a highly active repeating FRB signal behaving differently than anything previously detected.
"This work is exciting because it provides both confirmation of known FRB properties and the discovery of some new ones," said lead author Sofia Sheikh, of the SETI Institute in California.
Over a two-month period, Sheikh and other scientists observed 35 FRBs from a single source, FRB 20220912A. They discovered a fascinating pattern emerging from their observations.
Most repeating FRBs gradually get lower in pitch as they go on, according to astronomers. However, FRB 20220912A is different. It has a never-before-seen change in pitch that sounds like a cosmic slide-whistle which can be heard when the data is converted into a sound clip using a xylophone.
....Astronomers believe some FRBs are caused by a type of neutron star called a magnetar. These neutron stars have very strong magnetic fields and are the cores of dead stars.
"We’re narrowing down the source of FRBs, for example, to extreme objects such as magnetars, but no existing model can explain all of the properties that have been observed so far," Sheikh sai

Webb was a Pulitzer Prize winner whose “Dark Alliance” series went viral in the early days of the internet. It caused a firestorm that led to the resignation of CIA Director John Deutch after he was grilled by angry Black activists at a meeting in L.A.
Webb stood by his research, nevertheless, and continued to expose corruption as a freelance journalist. Some speculate this is what got him killed.
