i think a lot of the Internet needs to realize that genAI doesn't even really make the top 5 most important progressive issues right now. flock cameras, trans rights, palestine, ukraine, blm, abortion; that's already 6 issues that I'd rank higher straight off the dome. if you're doing serious activism for any of those causes then you're "on my side" whatever you think of ai. to be absolutely clear i hate ai and I do think there are great environmental and economic reasons to fight it at every stage and in every way, and i will discourage my allies from using it, but they are still my allies!! I am sick of the way certain online progressives purge each other for heterodoxy on the eighteenth party plank. Sick. Of. It.
