The Type-23 frigate HMS Lancaster is be decommissioned in Bahrain.

This at least to my knowledge is the first time since 1800s when Royal navy ship will be decommissioned in foreign port.

She was supposed to return home but it was judged she was more useful in the Gulf. This now leaves for the first time Gulf without RN vessel and only 7 frigates in commission.

Most of the crew will be flown home and it's to be seen what will be done with the ship and her numerous sensitive equipment onboard
