The photographer, Dmitry Markov, took the photo discreetly while waiting in a police station with other people arrested for protesting, sometime in February 2021, and posted the image while still being in police custody

It immediately went viral on social media, and funnily enough the other police officers in the station saw it on their phones and started laughing and sharing it to each others before showing it to the photographed officer, who was particularly offended:

“The riot policeman came running in very angrily. He didn't understand who had shot the photo. He turned to the part of the hall from where I had taken the image and as he realized he said: 'Here, you sneaks! This is very bad!' And he hurried away. He was very offended. I thought that he was almost crying."

🇨🇳 So far the man has not been caught, and I pray he does not because as if the fact it took place in the Wa State wasn't bad enough, he robbed a Chinese store.
