⚖️ Russia has officially withdrawn from the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture after Putin signed a law denouncing the treaty.
📜 The convention, adopted in 1987, allowed international experts to inspect prison conditions. By pulling out, Russia blocks the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture from monitoring its detention facilities.
