🇷🇺❗️Russian engineer’s threat assessment for the next ~6 months:

⚙️Jet-powered UAVs (Ruta, Barracuda)

-Germany’s Ruta and US Barracuda expected by late fall, roughly small-cruise-missile sized.

-Warhead comparable to the Geran/Shahed, but built for mass production: relaxed reliability standards, commercial off-the-shelf parts, assembly-line manufacturing.

-Similar cost to Geran but faster (600–800 km/h) and better performance.

-Speed makes low-altitude air defenses largely useless: mobile fire groups with machine guns, interceptor drones, artillery, helicopter interception, and net barriers all drop to near-zero effectiveness.

👹Air launch capability

-Folding wings allow air or ground launch; up to 8 mounted under an aircraft’s wing.

-A couple dozen Ukrainian aircraft could launch ~150 in a single salvo.

-Strike direction stays unpredictable until the last moment, preventing pre-emptive defense before launch.

⚠️Combined saturation tactic

-Pairing fast jet UAVs with slow conventional drones worsens “drone spam,” overloading air defense and lowering interception rates per salvo — meaning more targets hit.

🚀Ballistic missiles

-European production under Ukrainian control could yield ~500–700 units per year.

-That supports salvos of 20–30 ballistic missiles a couple times a month.

-Intercepting such salvos is harder than stopping the jet UAVs.
