Imagine you support someone for 40+ years just for them to be hostile towards you in the end

Taliban being religious and nationalist it’s was obvious that they would have territorial revendications like any other nationalist entity.

Back in September and October of last year during the war in Lebanon, there were quite a few subscribers from DH who privately offered to financially help and even opened their homes to me and my family if i were to become a refugee and needed somewhere to stay for a while

I refused because i
1- Did not need it
2- Was not comfortable taking from people

Point is, as the war’s one year anniversary approaches, i just want to genuinely thank all the people at the time who offered their help to what was essentially a complete stranger, that is extremely sweet. Thanked all of them in private at the time but i believe that kindness deserves be publicly acknowledged as a reminder that not everyone on the net is an asshole, good people pop up from time to time
