❌ The Fed consensus held that with a job market meeting the definition of “full employment” they could not lower the rates to stimulate more economic activity

🤭 Trump up to this point has had a problem of wanting his cake and eating it too. He wants the economy to remain strong and lower interest rates. This forces a ostensibly neutral entity like the Fed to essentially do nothing

😈 A theory has been offered that crashing the economy is the second preference of Trump. Since most of the economic activity is in blue cities and states, a crash “owns the libs” and makes room for domestic manufacturing

🤷‍♂️Whether or not that is true doesn’t really matter as the economic forecast has recently revealed there are more unemployed ppl than available jobs.

📈 Employment cooling off is sufficient evidence for the Fed to respond the way it did, which in turn is something the markets love
