On May 7, 2020, Morgan Grace Wetherbee was in a head-on collision. Breeana McClain, with an open container of alcohol and a revoked driver's license, had been speeding down a city street at over 80 miles per hour when she lost control of her vehicle, jumped over a median and crossed three lanes of traffic to hit Morgan's car, fatally injuring the young woman a few days before her 19th birthday. Morgan later passed away in a medical facility; meanwhile, Breeana set up a crowdfunding page where she blamed Morgan for the accident and asked for thousands of dollars to help buy a new car.
As part of a plea deal, Breeana was sentenced to 3 years of probation and ordered to apologize and admit her guilt on social media.
